Why would my 24 hr urine test be slightly elevated?

Kidney Stone Treatment
I had a baby 6 months ago. During my pregnancy I had several kidney stones and was told that my kidneys were a little smaller than they should be. I had a stent put in and later had lithotripsy and have not had any problems since. Any ideas why it might be elevated?
The Creatinine clearance level was 133. Values should have been under 128.
Thanks for the info. My dr is out of town but his nurse is scheduling me an appt with a nephrologist.

What was elevated, the amount of urine produced or specific values in the urine? If it was the amount of urine produced, producing more is generally better than producing less, especially when kidney problems are present. If you’re talking about a specific lab value, which one?

Elevated creatinine clearance can be caused by certain conditions, not necessarily related to renal (kidney) function. Actually lower than normal creatinine clearance values in a 24 hour urine are more clinically significant in kidney problems. It could have been something as simple as high protein intake prior to when testing began that caused the elevation. You really need to talk to your doctor for his/her thoughts on why your lab value was elevated.

That’s good that you’re seeing a nephrologist. God bless.

What were you being tested for? Protein, creatinine, albumin?
