Kidney Stone Symptoms
How can I get a symptom or problem worth going to the hospital for, without doing something crazy like shooting myself? Maybe something like a kidney stone? I need to give myself a painful symptom.
I DO NOT CARE IF YOU THINK IM CRAZY OR WHATEVER. THERE IS A GOOD REASON BEHIND THIS AND IT’S PERSONAL SO DON’T ASK WHY. SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE.

Regardless if you are in Canada, the United States, or any other place in the world, faking a disease is a horrible thing to do because it takes attention away from the seriously ill.
If you have a prescription painkiller addiction, you can get help at rehab facilities.
If you have Münchhausen Syndrome, you can get help at psychiatric facilities.
If you hurt yourself intentionally in anyway, you will probably end up in a psychiatric facility.
My suggestion to you is to not go to the ER for imaginary symptoms. All you will do is waste your time, the hospital’s time, and your money.

pretend to have horrible pains in your right side or something. they’ll think you have appendicitis.

It depends on how good of an actor you are. You can claim to have severe abdominal pain or severe back pain. Often, there turns out to be no diagnosable reason for those.

Claim shortness of breathe, dizziness. It’s vague enough that they’ll get you in there, run some tests. The MIGHT start an IV to hydrate you, just in case that’s the problem.
Best of luck!

If you have a good reason for being in the hospital you will be admitted, if not than you are simply attempting to abuse the symptom. Deliberately attempting to hurt yourself, or lying to get into the hospital is an abuse of the system. If you are in Canada, you are taking a bed away from a person who legitimately needs one, and if you are in the states, it will be discovered very quickly that you are lying, and you are simply going to be billed.
Sorry, but I really hope that no one helps you.

what you are suggesting is called malingering….you waste the valuable time of medical professionals who could be helping someone who really needs their help….you need to grow up and deal with your problems not run away from them and into an emergency room.
Not to mention that your record will show forever after that you are a malingerer…it won’t take a doctor very long to find out that there is nothing whatever wrong with you, and he will document that fact…you want that following you around for the rest of your life? Sort of like the boy who cried wolf so often when it wasn’t true, that when it was true, no one believed him.

Here’s what is going to happen. As soon as you arrive at the ER, you fill out a form, and you will first be seen by a triage nurse. This person will make an initial assesment and decide how soon, and if, you need to be seen by a doctor. At this point, you might be sent back home, be seen by a doctor immediately, or wait for anytime between 30 minutes to hours.
Please – please – do not waste the time of ER physicians. You may be replacing someone who may actually have a very acute and serious illness.
Also, do not forget, ER visits are very expensive. If there were no real emergency – and doctors will find out – your insurance will refuse to pay for it, and you can literally be stuck with tens of thousands of dollars to pay.
It is NOT unusual for this type of things to result in more than ten thousand dollars or more.
If you do this for any other reason than real medical emergency, you will be sorry for more reasons than one.

Great way to be a good citizen. Grow up and deal with your issues. Do you realize how selfish you are being by taking medical staff away from people who really are sick?

Seriously, doctor’s and nurses have better things to do then "treat" people like you.
It’s called malingering, and it will be on your record forever.
And even if they do notice you, a nurse before the doctor will come and assess you, if you even need a doctor. Either she will send you home, or you will be waiting a long for the doctor.
And you’ll only get billed. Lucky.
Don’t waste their time, really. It’s pointless.
