Gallstones
I’m 17 years old and i just found out that i have Gall stones. I’ve had 3 total Gall bladder attacks.the 1st one lasted an hour and a half, and the other 2 were only 45 mins each. its not that serious. and well i HATE doctors/hospitals/nurses and the sort and i DO NOT want/need surgery. they said its NOT severe, so what should i do? is there any other teens out there with the same problem? I mean i REALLY dont want to even go back to the hospital at all. Is there any other solutions anyone can come up with?

Hi there,
First thing is to be careful with your diet – low-fat (not fat free, as some dietary fat actually stimulates the gall bladder to empty, and this helps to prevent the backup that causes stones in the first place), and just be sensible with eating good food and good fibre.
This is going to sound a little out-there, but I’ll give you what worked for me.
I had gall stones, was lined up for surgery, and spoke to a family friend who is a herbalist/naturopath, and she gave me a treatment that worked, and I’ve since passed my stones. Medical professionals doubt that this works, but I’ve done it, my Mother in Law and Father in Law have both done it, and we’ve all been a lot better since.
You eat a light meal for lunch, and nothing more for the afternoon (you can eat, it won’t muck up the treatment, but if you do eat you are likely to feel ill and not hold it down later). At around 7pm (doesn’t matter what time you start, but give yourself 2 1/2 hours before bed), begin the treatment. It is very simple, but you do need to follow it properly. Each dose will contain 1 oz/30mL of fluid magnesia, 1 oz/30 mL olive oil (doesn’t need to be fancy or extra virgin, just regular midpriced olive oil), and 1 TB lemon juice (If you’re juicing the lemons yourself, this is around 6 lemons for the whole treatment). Take the oil, fluid magnesia, and lemon juice in the quantities above every 15 minutes, and do it a total of 10 times.
It sounds awful (and it really doesn’t taste nice, I’ll admit!) But it works. When your bowels move, you can find the stones. It makes you feel sort of ill/tired/washed out for a day or so, then you improve. It works because it softens the stones and stimulates the gall bladder to pass them while soft and therefore while they are not painful.
If it isn’t severe, you may not want to do anything at the moment, but if it does play up I’d recommend giving this a try. To me, it was well worth avoiding surgery and giving it a try. You may not need your gall bladder desperately, but it does play a role in your digestion, and you are better off with it.
Good luck, and I hope your attacks calm down!

it’s mostly in the diet…avoid fatty foods Choose a low-fat, high-fiber diet that emphasizes fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Reduce the amount of animal fat, butter, margarine, mayonnaise and fried foods you eat.

i am 18 and i have been having gallbladder attacks once a day since valentines day. i just got some test results back and i am meeting with a surgeon tomorrow. once you have one gallbladder attack, they usually wont end. but since yours isn’t so bad right now, just eat a lot of Low Fat foods. the fat in foods really irritates the gallbladder.
best of luck

You should go back to the hospital before things get worse. My gmas gallbladder exploded and she almost died. You can get poisoning from it if it burts. Ive had kidney stones twice and im 14 and i dont even drink pop. But the best of luck to u! I hope u get better! =D
