I’ve been taking from 8-12 pills nightly (I’m having a horrible time going to sleep due to my job schedule bouncing every single week) this is the only way I can sleep now. But I went to ER swearing I had kidney stones (it feels so much like stones I’ve had before too many times) after doing cat scan they found stones but still in kidneys not passed. So he couldn’t explain why I’m hurting so bad. Both sides of back hurt off & on but I came home it’s not easing up & I’m now curious if this can be causing my pain? I don’t want to go back to ER because they’ll think I’m nuts (hell I"m starting to wonder myself) but I can’t get relief…it’s my back, my sides & my stomach is very upset & also hurting some. What are some side effects? Can this cause my problems?? I’m hurting & not sure why…please help me if you know anything..

I’m a 20 year old female with very minor health issues in my past besides kidney stones. Lately, I’ve been having ALOT of discomfort in my left shoulder, neck, and arm. It’s kind of like it’s tingling but it also feels like something has been pulling all the way from my neck down to my fingers. It’s starting to make my chest hurt and taking deep breaths hurt as well. I can’t sleep on that side at all. Part of me thinks it is where i’m cutting wisdom teeth on that side or that I might have a deep ear infection. Anyways, I’m just curious, can’t go to the doctor until I get insurance in 2 months so just wondering if this could be the start of something serious or if it’s something minor or for that matter, growing pains or stress. Last night I had to take a one of my boyfriend’s muscle relaxers so just I could get a little sleep. I’ve been putting Icy-Hot on it just as some temporary relief, but it’s not really doing the trick. Just give me some feedback, any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For almost 3 weeks now, I’ve been having the symptoms of a really bad kidney infection. But testing my urine, nothing came up. I’ve been in and out of the doctors almost every day. There’s horrible pain in my lower back on both the right side, and left side. Just normally, they feel about the same, but when the doctors push on my kidneys, the right side is almost unbearable, and the left side is a bit more tolerable. They’ve tried using antibiotics, but only the very strong IV medication has helped, and only for two days. When I have to go to the bathroom, my pelvic area cramps up and I need to go right then. When actually going, I cramp up even worse. It’s take a few minutes to actually start going to the bathroom, so I sit there all cramped. My lower back pain hurts a lot worse in the morning, and feels a bit better as the days goes on. I’ve puked twice now, and I’m always either freezing cold, or boiling. I’ve gotten an ultra sound, but nothing showed up. There’s not blockage, no stones, nothing that looks alarming to the doctors. I’m bruising very easily, and cuts are healing very, very slowly. I don’t have the urge to eat, and I’m constantly tired, even after having a nice 10 hour nights sleep. At night when the pain in my back is keeping me awake, I get a very bad headache and my whole face feels really cold. Then when I put on a sweatshirt I get really hot and start to sweat. I have white blood cells in my urine, but no blood and no bacteria for a UTI. The doctors are coming up with nothing, and I refuse to take Vicodin anymore. Does anyone know what it could be? If I have something to suggest to the doctors, maybe they can go off that and go into more tests to try and figure out what’s going on. Thank you for any help.

Ok, well my side’s been hurting me since last night. It started out like gas in the tummy and after maybe 15 or 30 mins it moved to my lower right abdomin. I took ibuprofen and went to sleep in hopes of it going away but when I woke up and it’s still there. Not as bad but still there.

Last night and today it only seems to hurt when I move, bend, or lean a certain way. Today and last night I’ve felt a bit nauseous but haven’t puked or anything, and it could have been from the ibuprofen. At this point it’s not a "feel like I’m dying pain" obviously, but it’s a 4 – 6 on scale of 1 – 10.
I did have the shakes a bit laying in bed last night.

To note, 3 or 4 months ago I went to hospital with pretty bad left side pain and was diagnosed with a kidney stone, which I passed a few days later. It was comparable to that but maybe not as bad last night.

I’ve been to the hospital around 3 times in the last 2 years for side pains, of which 2/3 of those times nothing turned up. What does this sound like?
I’ve had a bit of gas too.

Yesterday evening I started having bad cramps, nausea, and pain in the lower part of my back on the left side. I tried a heating pad, took a bath but nothing has helped the pain. I wasn’t able to sleep at all and the pain isn’t going away. I think this might be a kidney stone but I’m not sure if I really need to go to a dr. The pain is bad but not unbearable. I have been drinking lots of water but I also don’t want to take any pain killers bc I might be pregnant but it’s a little too soon to test. Is there anything else I can do to help ease the pain?

Okay. So, i’ve had a kidney stone before… And My Dr says sinse my mother gets them, I will probably recieve more. And they never tested the one I had to see the cause… so, I don’t even know what could help to prevent it. My pain is in the lower right side. Hurts like someone just stabbed me or something quite close to it. Definitely can’t sleep through it… It woke me up. No matter how I lie, it still hurts. Makes you wanna cry, it hurts so bad. I’m 16. Thought it was rare for a teenager to have kidney stones. :/ Any way to get rid of this pain? …or do you have any ideas on what else it could be? Though, I’m almost positive it’s a kidney stone. Oh. And I feel like vomiting.

Last October while I was at homecoming I complained about my back hurting the whole night. Then I got home and tried to sleep and the pain had moved to my side and it was pretty much unbearable. Like the worst pain I had ever felt in my whole life. Went to the hospital and the doctor said I had a kidney stone. Got my meds, passed it and all was fine until about a week ago, I woke up with the same unbearable pain in my side. Go to the hospital ANOTHER kidney stone but this time bigger. I dont understand what is causing it? I drink water and occasionally soda but I quit drinking diet soda after the first kidney stone. The nurse said my calcium level was normal so the only thing I can think of is it being hereditary but I dont know because no one on my moms side gets them and my dad is adopted. Is there anything else that causes kidney stones?? I’ve been drinking tons of water and cranberry juice lately. Is there anything else to help prevent them??

Iam Jasmine 23 yrs , My last period was on January 5 , According to my doctor my ovulation was on 25 Jna. On 24 & 25 I had sex with my hus. On 23,24,25,26 had a little blood in brown colour came . That I told to my doctor he told me its not a problem. Normally my period coming 32/34 , but this time my period not yet came. Today is Feb 21 means its already completed 46 days. Last Friday I gone to hospital & tale a pregnancy test. It was negative. Normally during my period time I feel too much pain. From Last week I feel too much pain from my abdomen & ovary. But its only for 2 , 3 minutes. Night time also its coming . So I cannot sleep well. For this last week I taken a ultrasound scan on my uterus part. Doctor told me no problem everything is ok.. Then today I gone to Hospital and take urine test & ultrasound scan on my Abdomen & kidney , for is there any chance for urinary infection or stone in kidney, but it was ok no problem, I saw a nephrorologist, he told me everything is ok no problem. Still have the pain. My doctor told me come after one week. .I don’t know wts happening, Anybody have the same symptoms please let me know, please give me a reply as soon as possible, with details. Iam so worried about it , ia pregnant or not ?

I know this is the wrong catergory, but "pregnancy" has been taken over by too many trolls and silly teens……

So I’m 18 weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy) and I’m having this pain deep in my abdomen on the right side.
At first I thought it was because I had waited too long to use the bathroom…because I wanted to sleep just one more hour!
But usually when that happens it goes away by mid-day.

If I’m resting and layin go on my left side it feels fine, no pain at all. But when I’m standing the pain starts, not too bad-I’d say a 3. The worst is when I lift my right leg to get into the car. Wow its bad then! And it almost feels like I can feel something (baby, organ?) drop down slightly.

I have an appt with my OB on monday, and hes super busy, so I know if he wants to see me itll mean an entire day in the waiting room. I’d like to aviod that since I have a toddler!

My other worry is that my husband was just diagnosed with either a prostate infection or epididymits…either way his dr put him on broad spectrum antibiotics and said they would knock out either infection. We were intimate the night before he started having symptoms, but his dr didnt say anything about being concerned about my health. However when I googled epididymitis, and the internet says that typically it is a complication of an STD-which neither of us have, we were both tested.

Any ideas? My MIL suggested kidney stones, but I’ve never had them so I dont know what that would feel like…..thanks in advance!

I think I might have a UTI but I’m not sure. It seems like every month I get a short UTI during my period. My periods last usually 4-6 days, so I have to suffer through with UTI symptoms.. (feeling the need to urinate, only urinating a bit and burning while urinating.) This time though it’s so bad that I can not sleep. It’s now 8:40ish in the morning here and I have yet to get a wink of sleep. What am I to do? Is this a UTI or something else?
My family also has a history in kidney stones, but not until middle ages. Please help! I’m desperate for sleep!
no there isn’t any blood. i don’t get them EVERY month but it isn’t uncommon. they usually don’t hurt that bad, but this time it hurts really bad. and no it’s not pleasurable at all. it burns so bad that i can’t sleep because of the pain.

Over the past few days I have been having painful preassure on my bowl or whatever

I’m only 13 so I’m not having sex

My one year old poodle has kidney stones. The operation costs 00, but since the Vet is a friend of mine, he is charging me 00. Even so, I cannot afford the operation. My parents say they are thinking of putting her to sleep. This whole situation is very depressing. The Vet gave me some medicine to ease the uncomfortableness but otherwise, I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions?

Last year I had a lot of kidney stones, so many that my doctor ordered a Lithotripsy. (Blasting of stones with a laser to make them small enough to pass)

I went home and did as they said, took pain killers if needed and drank a lot of water. I drank more than a gallon.

Towards the end of the night things started moving and i felt pretty uncomfortable so i took a pain killer and fell asleep. I woke up the next morning and was in a lot of pain. I had to go to the ER.

They gave me morphine and hydrated me. No scans. I felt good after awhile but most likely because of the drugs. I went home and wrote any pain that i had off as residual pain from the passing of stones.

Naturally after a long morning in the ER on drugs, and most of the rest of the day trying stay awake I had to sleep. I woke up at 9pm in the worst pain I’ve ever experienced.

Back to the ER I went. They rushed me in because they saw I still had a bracelet on from the morning and they knew they screwed up sending me home without doing any scans. The nurse ran me down the hall in the wheelchair, so fast my parents couldn’t keep up.

The tried to manage my pain with various drugs, nothing worked. They used so much they were preparing to reverse an O.D.

A cat-scan showed a 10mm obstruction and a 7.5mm obstruction trying to pass through the ureter. There was no room for me to do surgery at that time so they gave me a room and a button to self administer drugs. which didn’t help one bit.

9pm – 630am was hell

The surgeon, who works in the same practice as the surgeon who did the lithotripsy, talked to me before hand and was not happy with him. She said that he should have put in a stint to allow the particles to flow and not clog like they did.

She did an invasive surgery and physically removed everything she could find.She put in a stint as well. I am very thankful and grateful for her but…

Now i have a ,000 bill that I can’t possibly pay for(I’m 23) Ive received my final notice from a collections agency and I’m just so overwhelmed. There’s ambulance fees from other stones, (unrelated incidents ) and KUB’s. It just keeps piling on. I feel hopeless at ever being able to move out. Now here I am one summer later and I am in pain once again.

I followed their directions so I just don’t feel like I should have to pay for a room and a second emergency surgery that they caused by not putting one little plastic tube in me.

Do you think I have a case if someone comes knocking at my door? can I say "I’m getting a lawyer and I’ll see you in court"

A couple of days ago, I was having very bad pains in my back that wrapped around my side. I then threw up and the pain was there all night, could not sleep or get comfortable not matter what I did. Now the pain has pretty much subsided, not vomiting, no fever. But I am seeing blood in my urine. Sometimes its light pink and other times its darker. Is this a sign of kidney stones?

i think i am just getting over a UTI. it only lasted ike 2 days… i had the "urge" to pee and nothing would come out and when it would it would burn.
but now that feeling is gone.
and i’ve been peeing every like two and a half hours.
ive been getting less sleep because of this.

My mom has been sick for about a week now with terrible pain located around the left kidney. She recently has come up with some other symptoms like nausea, high fevers, chills, stomach bloating (huge amount of bloating), almost complete lose of appetite and thirst, reddening of the skin around where the pain is, and lack of sleep. She had an appointment scheduled three days from now, but me might end up running her into the emergency room. I thought she might have a kidney stone, but then she started getting the bloating and the redness. I’m really worried. What would cause her to actually redden on the skin around the area of the pain? I’m worried she might have an infection. What do you guys think? I would like to get an idea of what might be wrong with her.
**by the way, the redness is not a rash, it kinda looks like a bruise…

Hello. Im a 23 yr old female, healthy and active. i woke up Saturday morning with my back feeling a little off. Not too bad though. But it was very uncomfortable to walk. Lower back, left side, not right where my kidneys are but lower above the hip. I thought maybe it was from wearing heels, i always wear them so i dont know. So the next day on Sunday (yesterday) it was way better, i didnt feel a thing, BUT i did wake up feeling achy all over, my body, my legs, my arms, my thighs, even the muscles in my tummy, like my abs, almost as if i went to wrk out the night before which i didnt, i felt all sore. Dont know if i was getting a fever or not, So sunday night last night the aches pretty much were gone, but the lower back discomfort started coming back. I went to sleep, this morning i woke up fine, i work in a office sitting in a cubicle all day, ive never had back problems before in my life. But since this morning its getting worse. Its a sharp shooting pain, almost like someone is pressing down or against my back, feels like the pain is radiating down to my buttocks even down my thighs at times. sometimes i feel okay, the discomfort is still there but all of a sudden sharp shooting pain on my left side lower back. I have no other symptoms. No fever, no aches, no chills. So is this a sprain or broken muscle of some sort or a kidney stone, or kidney infection? Im going to my doctor today once i get off work. I cant wait i cannot stand it! Why is it that it went away Sunday and just came back, wouldnt a sprain or broken /tightened muscle stay there? the pain wouldnt just go away and re-appear? This is why im thinkin that its maybe something to do with a kidney stone or infection cause the pain went and came back. BUT its NOT in the KIDNEY AREA. Hurts to walk, and even just sit here. Feels like theres a huge boulder sitting inside my lower back! feel all tensed up. Please someone what could this be?
Oh AND i took ibuprofen this morning, four of them 200miligrams each and i took 4. And it did absolutely nothing, i put bengey that cream that smells and makes ur back hot. i put a pillow on my chair. Nothing is helping to relieve this pain. NOTHING.

I have a weird pain in my lower right back that feels like its too far right to be part of my back bones. I have had a kidney stone before but it didnt really feel like this. I woke up with a sharp pain in the same region a few days and thought it was a kidney stone, but it subsided(unlike my first kidney stone that took me to my knees). I went to the doc and they tested my pee and said everything is fine. A day later and it is starting to really bug me. I Really notice the pain when i lay down to sleep, and have to wake up every 1-4 hours to urinate. I could sleep all through the day if I didnt pull myself out of bed and I am sometimes dizzy feeling. It sort of feels like it could be a little kidney stone working through but i dont know? Also sometimes my left side will hurt too and feel like a cool sensation inside. Am I dealing with a Kidney stone/s, infection, or something else??? I know I should go back to doc but i dont have insurance and im sure they will want to do x ray for K.stones, but what do u guys think???

I’m Stressed im sick and im feeling overwhelmed everything just happened at once. I have a kidney stone which started it all now its uncomfortable to pee. not only that i have hemmorrhoids and i think i caught the flu im 20 years old and i feel like my body is falling apart. anyways so my symptoms include heartburn my taste buds are all messed up i cant taste anything but i can feel the burn from the spice or know when its sweet even coffee tastes like water. I developed a huge bruise on my leg 7 in long and 4 in wide. I never ran into anything. i have pore circulation i keep hearing things and seeing things. when i sleep i wake up every half hour and stay up for another hr trying to get myself back to sleep. my kidney really hurts i cant think straight and my right eye keeps going really blurry and my right rib keeps cramping. Im a 20 yr old female and i also just went through a breakup and lost my job because of my sickness its affecting my every day life i dont have insurance and cant afford to go to the doctor. has this appened to anyone else?

Ok. So, I had never even heard of this disease and I heard about it on the radio.
So here are my symptoms:
for three years now I have stomach problems.
HORRIBLE pain in the upper right of my abdomen, I had kidney stones about 3 months ago. It hurt.
gullbladder problems
i have anemia
am always depressed and have anxiety
I am ALWAYS tired. I get plenty of sleep and am sooooo fatigued all the time.
Just started having horrible back and joint (mainly knee and jaw) pain
Whenever I get a cold, it immediately turns into broncitis or strep.
Bad coughing anytime I lay down.

Could this all be related to Lupus? Any information would be great!

I have suffered from kidney stone pain but have never gotten treated because it’s just too expensive for me now. I just take tylenol but it really dont help.. does anyone know what i can do to stop the pain? Sometimes when the pain really hurts, it’s impossible to sleep.

okay so i started birth control in august because i would bleed so much it would go through my matress and i had to change my pad every 5 mins, the cramps were unbearable and i had my period every 13 days
after 2 months of that not working they put me on the highest dosage of birth control, i cramp everyday and all day long, i am always bloated all day and everyday, and i bleed enough to feel up one thin pad every single day
not a day goes by that i don’t bleed out and i have to wear a pad everyday
the cramps are not always painful, but it is enough to cause me alot of discomfort
recently, along with the cramps i get this sharp pain near my vagina. it hurts really bad, i am hunched over crying right now because its like i am in constant pain
it hurts to even poop. it literally feels like a knife is stabbing my vagina and uterus
my lower back and uper thighs always hurt too, like aching
i told my mom and she said suck it up and take a motrin, it doesnt help
she sorta thinks it may be a cyst, but what are the symptoms for that?
