My dog is sick. It started 3 weeks ago when he wouldn’t pee – brought him into the vet and they removed a mucus plug, but the next weekend, he was back to the same issue. Again they removed a mucus plug and suggested an ultrasound. We scheduled one. The next weekend, he was doing better on acidic meds to break up what they thought were beginning kidney stones. He was doing okay so they canceled the ultrasound. Then, in the middle of the week, he had a complete turn around. Now he couldn’t stop himself from peeing!!! And it was happening to the point where he’d piss and then just lay in his own pee because he was so lethargic. He started throwing up. We brought him back into the vet and they put him on anti-inflamatory’s and new food (C/D diet) because we thought that was the problem. Now his potty problems seem to have disappeared – but he’s still incredibly lethargic and is puking ALL the time. I am running out of money to bring him in. He’s also got slimy stuff from his mouth.

About a month ago I was having sharp pains in my kidneys, the right one mostly, and frequent urination. I went to the doctor and they said I had a uti and gave me bactrim and it cleared up. As soon as I was done with the antibiotics the symptoms came back. I lived with it for another week or so, then the kidney pain became severe. I went to the er where they perfomed blood and urine tests, a doctor examined me and they also gave me a CT scan and could find nothing wrong. They said I had no stones or infection, offered me painkillers, which I declined, and sent me home. I have been to two doctors, urgent care, and the ER and I am really at a loss of where to turn next. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? The symptoms are not as severe as they once were, but still are there, also I have been feeling a great amount of fatigue. I am on 3 medications… Zoloft, klonopin (only as needed I rarely take it) those are for anxiety. And I was on Adipex, but stopped taking it two days ago because it seems that all of this started a few weeks after I began taking it and I don’t like how it makes me feel. Are any of these meds related to kidney problems that anyone knows of? All of the doctors I saw were aware of the meds I am on and didn’t say anything, but I am running out of places to turn. Help Please!!!

The meds works to take away the infection, but not always the pain! My "lips", not sure what the medical term for them is, they burn so bad that they are bleeding! It’s not my period.. I know..But it hurts so bad to pee! What can I do?? And if I do #2, forget about it! It’s 10 times worse on my vagina!

I’m a 16 year old female.
Friday of last week, I started having the constant urge to urinate. And, when I did it was barely anything at all. When I woke up on Saturday, my back was in so much pain. So, I went to the store and bought Azo thinking it was a Urinary Tract infection.

There’s was blood in my urine, and I even urinated STRAIGHT blood for about a day.
My back pain kept becoming worse (specifically on the right side ) along with nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, fever, chills, fatigue, a bloated, sick queasy feeling. Just all round ill feeling.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday, the gave me a prescription to take for 10 days thinking it was a UTI, as I did. They called a few days later, saying it wasn’t. I have to go back and give a urine specimen after I finish my meds.

Please note:
All of my symptoms are now gone. I feel completely normal, besides being constipated.

Could this have been Kidney Stones?

I’m 23 and recently found out that I’m pregnant. My bf is older than I am and already has kids from before. I’m worried about childbirth and how painful it will be. He told me its similar to passing a kidney stone. I’ve heard him pass a stone before. Before passing it, he was on his hands & knees. I know he had a strainer that would rest over the toilet and he would pee into it. When the stone came out of his you know….he yelled! He takes 3 meds, for high blood pressure, a water pill and flomax for his BPH, not sure if any of those have anything to do with his stone problems? So, is passing a stone similar to childbirth?

has any one had them? or a kidney infection??
my doctor said i may have them . they did an ultrasound of my kidneys and didnt find anything. but he said he is not 100% certain there are no stones.they said i do have a uti. this is my 3rd one since i have been pregnant. either that or its still the same one that hasnt completely cleared… can that cause pains similar to kidney stones?? i have been havin horrible lower back pain.. left side. seems to come and go every other day.. and now today my left leg seems to have this weird cramping/numbing pain down the back of my thigh! what is that!!??
i go back to the doc on monday. i was just there on thursday.. they sent me to the hospital and i stayed there overnight…. got out friday afternoon….
they gave me antibiotics… thats all
i started takin the meds on saturday and it seems the symptoms i have been havin have gotten worse … not better… i know it can take a couple days for them to work.. but sheesh!!

My best friend (female) has developed a problem with Rx as well as OTC medications that she has overused (the Rxs were prescribed to her, she just gone through them too fast.) to help her with her lingering problem with kidney stones and the pain that comes with them. All she does now is sleep because of the meds. We are getting her help that she needs for that, but is there anything NATURAL that she can take to deal with the PAIN? Please help! Thank you!!

I thought it was another kidney stone but ct scan revealed numerous cyst on ovaries they gave me dilauid through i.v but when the meds wore off the pain came back hurting in groin area, hip and inner thigh and back, has anyone ever had those type of symptoms before? i mean really awful pain!! how was the cysts treated? any input would be greatly appreciated!!

I am a mess. I had my last period on Aug.15th and started having excruciating lower back pains since the 18th.I had my tubes clamped in Jan.2004 and have 2 kids already.All blood and urine came back negative and an ultrasound was done yesterday and came back nothing.I have all these symptoms along with my lower back pain,pinching in the pelvic area,bloating,more bathroom trips than usual,cramping and tender ribs,sensitive breasts,nausea and vomiting now as well.I am confused they ruled out U.T.I.,kidney stones and appendicitis as a cause.I had my gallbladder out when I was 16.I heard tubes that are clamped can be opened and I can’t explain this at all what I am experiencing.I had the ultrasound done on the 26th is this too soon to detect if I am pregnant? I am going nuts with this because I know my body and I feel weird but I need answers.I also have had extreme fatigue,no ambition to do nothing and tired all the time.Can someone please help me with this as I feel like I am losing my mind.My son was not to be conceived because his father had a very low sperm count and chances were one in a million…but I got pregnant.Dr. knows of the pains and symptoms and going to see her again tomorrow but this is crazy!Can you see if pregnant this soon by an ultrasound??Please someone shed some feedback…anything would be helpful.

Ok i have ben traveling out of town n the whole time i have ben in n out of the hospital wit severe abdominal/back pain n vomitting constantly.The 1st ER i went 2,Dec.27th told me he thout i was passing a kidney stone.He prescribed me2 loratab,gave me a IV 2hydrate me n sent me on my way.The next day,the pain worsened,2the point where the meds wernt helping me nemore.So i went2 the ER again,a diff 1..They took my blood,gave me meds,ran tests,gave me a pap..n told me i have PID n endometriosis..Prescribed me2an antibiotic n vicodin n told me2follow up with my doc wen i got home.Ive ben takin the vicodin wen i need it n i just got home yday.I went2 my doc, she looked at all my paperwork 4rm the ERs n ordered me a CT of the abdomen n pelvis(right side).She calld me2day n told me she thinks i have a cyst on my right ovary becuz they see sum there n she thinks it burst.1st of all how did it get there? Is that bad? What could happen2me? What infections coud it cause? Will the pain go away?

Hi, got a few questions to ask, I had an older brother who suddenly died in 2007 due to "MR-SA" (SO Im told rather). He was actually a drowning victim. My brother was almost 6 ft tall, how could he drown in a pool not as deep as he is tall? He complained of hip pain the dr said it was a kidney stone, when that wasnt passed he went back. Its a kidney infection. That never cleared up. My brother was 27 years old. He eventually had to have a pick line run from his arm to his heart so the antibiotics would work. His meds were upwads of 300 a wk. He could barely walk it hurt him so bad. It started as what we thought a kidney infection and got worse. He was swimming with his wife and kids one day and everyone thought he was playing until he was flipped over in the pool. He had to of had something happen to him while he was in the air. Im sorry, this just does not make sense to me. The drs could not tell him what was wrong but it was so bad he had to be hospitalized. He had to have an iv put in his body to constantly wear for medicine, It was more than a kidney infection. After he drown the ems arrived and pronounced him doa(dead on arrival) he was given cpr and brought back. The time he had spent in the pool while he was under had made my brother brain dead. He was with us in body but his mind died in that pool. He was put in intensive care for two days and several test run. No brain activity. That I understand. Watching as my brother took his last breath was heartbreaking at the least. I am only wondering what lead up to this. The drs didnt know.What exactly is MRSA? Ive read some on it it is very strong. Antibiotics dont hold a candle to it. The hip pain he complained of? Ive thought this and never voiced it he had found a baby deer in the woods prior to this had he somehow contracted lyme disease, If so can it kill you that fast?? In lesss than two months time? Any one who can help shed some light pl;ease help.

My five year old female Shihtzu just came home today from having bladder surgery to remove kidney stones. She has been prescribed Hill’s C/D prescription diet. I have given her the canned and the kibbles and she really hates it and will not eat it. I have also purchased the treats. She does like the treats but won’t eat anything else.

Is there anyone out there that has had a similar situation. If so what did you feed your dog? I do not want the kidney stones to come back so I have to be very strict with her diet.
I just worry bc she is not eating. I have to give her meds and usually put the meds in her food. She won’t eat.

I have tried warming up the food, she wont touch it. Worried…

Help! My Mom was on the bathroom floor last night screaming in pain, because she has a kidney stone. She doesn’t want to go to the hospital, because last time she was there, they put her on bad meds, and plus, she just doesn’t like the enviornment. My husband has the most terrible toenail fungus problem in history. All 9 of his toes (don’t ask me why his left pinky is immune). He’s tried the athlete’s powders etc. He went on an oral treatment from the doctor twice. It worked in that his toes nails took 6 months to clear and then two months to infect again. Then 6 months later he had kidney stones from the meds. Are the lazer treatments effective? Will it cost a bundle just to have them clear for two months and cloud over again? He’s had this problem for 30 years. Thanks.

My husband has been having these problems for a few months now and I need to know if anyone else has had these things and if they have found out what is causing it?
It started with him getting a case of hives, itching all over with a rash. They gave him steroids and that was the end of it. Second time – he got hives again. This time it lasted longer, he was clammy and flushed. His blood pressure was very high – 180 over 100. They gave him some meds to help with the rash and told him to go to his doctor about his blood pressure. The third time this happened was two weeks ago, he about fainted, could not stand up, I had to call an ambulance and his blood pressure was only 85 over 35. He was flushed and clammy again. This time they did all sorts of tests on him, all came up negative except for Thyroid, they told us it was not producing as it should. My husband also has bouts with Gout and kidney stones. His ankles have been swollen lately and they hurt. Any ideas about this will help.
HIs heart was found to be in good working order. They have done all the heart tests. One other thing they found was that he has Sleep Apnea.

For years I’ve gotten horrible cramps during my periods. My doctor tried putting me on Estrostep birth con. to help but it didn’t work, tried muscle relaxers, tylenol, heating pads, & nothing helps.
They are so bad at times, I lay in bed & just cry. I’ve gotten tests that show how my pain equivalent to kidney stone pain. =( I can’t take certain meds because I’m allergic. Any other ways to mellow out cramps?

I’ve gotten blood tests, ultra sounds, paps, internal exams, everything & all came back normal. But my gyno said I have a tight-set vagina so when my "creases", if you will, open for menstral blood to flow it actually tears =/

I was in my local emercency room for over six hours last night. I had a CT done and was told I have a 7mm kidney stone. The dr Prescribed me Loratab 5 for the pain. well this morning after the meds they gave me in the ER wore off I took one of my pain pills. It had no effect, so I hate to say but I took another. It then made a small dent in my pain. I can’t take anymore but am still in severe pain. Does anybody have any advice so I can have some relief. 4I have three kids tomorrow is halloween and my daughters birthday. I want to enjoy the day with my children

I was diagnosed with a 14mm kidney stone on Dec. 20. I am scheduled to have it shockwaved on Jan. 23. The uroligist put a stent from my kidney to the bladder to keep the stone from blocking. Since Dec. 20, I have gone through sepsis and a UTI that is caused by the MRSA bacteria. I am finishing up the meds for the UTI and my question is… Am I still supposed to be in pretty bad pain all the time? Could the stent cause the pain? Some days my urine is bloody, other days not. I have not had one pain-free day in 4 weeks. My doctors treat me like I am a hypochondriac and kinda shrug it off. Has anyone had experience with kidney stones and stents? Help!

Yesterday my doctor suspects I have kidney stones, which makes sense of course, but I have a couple questions about them for people who have had them….

Two days ago, all the sudden, it hurt like heck when I peed and a little blood came out….this continued through the night and through yesterday morning then it started getting better. I went to the doc last night and was negative for infections so he thought kidney stones and is running test on my blood and urine.

In the meantime I am wondering, was that it? Is it done after that? Has anyone with Kidney stones had this happen? I have no back paid or side pain or anything other than urinating pain and blood…but that has since stopped or appears that way….Im just wondering has anyone had that and then the BIG hits or am I in the clear here?????

my first thought was a UTI, I never had one so I wouldnt know, but my wife has and that was her thoughts as well…

The doc did say he was going to send the urine in for more test and if it did show a infection he would call in meds for me.

He then said if its still like that in 2 to 3 days to come back and they will do a ct scan.

Ok so Last week I went to the hospital for very bad stomach pains and I hadnt gone to the bathroom for like a week. They said that I had a urinary tract infection, and ive taken all my meds and now my period has come and its very very light. And usually my periods are VERY heavy. Im kind of worried?
