I have been feeling really dizzy each time I get up from sitting for more than 30 sec. hurts to urinate, pain in bladder and abdomen, urinating more often, and mild nausea. I have antibiotics from about two weeks ago when I did have a urinary tract infection. There the same symptoms I had last time. I’m still sick from what the doctor thinks is acid reflex disease, it’s not going away! 
the medicine had more than a one week dose. Do you think I should ask the doctor … I’m going on vacation so I can go to the doctor in a week.
I am going out tomorrow to drink and afraid of a kidney stone?

I had my first kidney stone that had to be surgically removed on April 15.. just over a week ago. Before I could have surgery, I had to have a severe kidney infection and urinary tract infection clear up. They cleared up before my surgery. I also had a ureter stint put in that was removed on April 20. I took my last pain medicine (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and my last antibiotic on April 20. Since then I have significantly increased my water intake and completely dropped drinking caffeine and cola soda.
My questions are:
Is it OK for me to drink quite a few alcoholic beverages tomorrow to celebrate my friend’s birthday so close after having a kidney infection and having non-invasive surgery (they went up my penis). The doctor said I had no restrictions and I am no longer have any pain at all.
Secondly, if I was to drink tomorrow night, could that one night cause me to have another stone? Meaning could I have no stone at the moment, but if I have 5-6 alcoholic drinks walk away with having a kidney stone in the next few days as a result? This may sound stupid, but I have anxiety about having another kidney stone because the pain of having one was so excruciating. Thanks!

Ok yesterday I posted a question that said I have a bad urinary tract infection I said I had it for 7 months, But was scared of doctors and medicine I took the advice went to the ER tonite I do not have a urinary tract infection at all all my blood work came back really good for std’s bladder, signs of cancer, And he did a papsmhere low and behold My cervix are not shaped right And one has two cysts on it, but the feeling to urinate no explanation but sensitivity, why my bladder hurts no answer, but then he tells me that he is worried about my weight and thinks I have bulimia because I tiold him I am loosing alot of weight but have always been small, I also mentioned the fact that everytime I eat I throw up or get nausiated but I dont induce the vomiting he still says u have bulimia your body can do it by itself, he said I need to see a sychiatrist to find out the underlying problem thats making me bulimic because I dont know why how do you get bulimia without inducing please honesty

I suffer from bouts with painfull kidney stones and have had 4 durgries stents and lipotripsy.I have a damanged kidney and ureter since the stones I have tend to be large with spurs.Due to chronic pain I was taking vicodin 4 times a day as needed.I developed an unavoidibe dependence to the medicine and was unable to stop due to the pain it was masking.My husband acused me of addiction after being on the pills for 1 year.He took away my meds and sent me to a detox center at hosptial.I have been completly off vicodin for 1.5 years.Now I have kindey stones agin I pased one at the ER and there are many more that require a surgury to remove before they move out and cause extreme pain .My family husband and in -laws do not beleave I am in pain and do not want me under any circumstances to recive pain meds as they think I will become "addicted" I dont agree and said that will not happen I will only take what I need until I recover.Well beceause of them i refused pain meds at the hosptial and sufferd horribly as I passed the stone.They said I can have the surgury but no pain meds after to to go home with as with any surgury the pain is unbearible w/out meds any advice ?
So recently over the past 3 days my cat has been acting weird.
He cannot seem to urinate and sometimes there like droplets of red fluid. Now he’s like going anywhere he wants trying to urinate and he can’t seem to. Last night he spent the night in lying in his litterbox and this morning in a cardboard box. He seems so weak & I don’t know what to do. He doesn’t want to eat or drink anything. I just found him foaming at the mouth. :O
Are there any home remedies I can do to help him? And what could of caused this?
My parents don’t want to pay like 0 for a surgery/vet visit or anything.
I don’t know if this helps but my dad sometimes lets him out to explore the backyard on a leash. Plus my mom fed him the leftovers in a tuna fish can. Can overfeeding him also be a factor?

I had a VERY serious kidney infection when i was 17. I was in the hospital for over two weeks and now my kidney is all scared up.
Then when I was pregnant with my first son I started getting kidney stones…they have had to go in and remove them twice.
Now after having another child (who is now almost 2) I have kidney stones for the 5th or 6th time. I have 2 stones in the right and 2 stones in the left and one that is passing that appears to be from the right kidney.
I do not drink a lot of pop or fast food. I hate milk and don’t drink much OJ. My dr. did say that she thinks they are calcium, but she has referred me to a urologist to help me furthur.
ALSO I found out I also have an ovarian cyst on my right ovary which as a little over 2 inches.
I know that doctors go to school to know all about these problems, but I’m wondering if anyone out there has PERSONALLY had a similar problem and ways to prevent this?
All I know is I am sick of being in pain, this time it has been almost a month and my doctor is so picky about writting pain medicine perscriptions that I’ve ended up in the ER 4 times already…and she had an issue with that…hello…in PAIN!
Anyone with similar problems please advise. Thanks!

4 or 5 days ago I went for my first 7 mile walk and about 2 days after that I went to sleep and woke up and had severe pain in the back my right side, like above the lovehandle(i dunno what its called) when I got up, took my pain medication and it went away. then the same thing happened the day after and it went away with medicine. Now it feels less painful but it’s in the front and back now. What is wrong?

We are going to the vets tomorrow so don’t tell me i need to go because i know. A couple of weeks ago my guinea pig started weeing pink and squeaking as he goes. I hate it because I think he is in a lot of pain as he does it. He has always been a VERY happy guinea pig, running around, squeaking 24/7, he is the best. Lately he has been showing all the symptoms of kidney stones. He sits in a corner with his fur all puffed out and still squeaks when he wees. He has always been such a chunky little boy, but he just isn’t the same. He is very antisocial he even bites now and he didn’t do that before. I have also noticed he has gone thin which is weird for him. He wasn’t obese he was just a good weight and I can feel all his bones it is making me really upset. He has been on medicine for 2 weeks but it has had no change and that is why we are going back tomorrow. I really hate seeing him like this it is making me really upset. The vet even suggested it could possibly be kidney stones and we will hopefully find out tomorrow.
I would only like your advice if you know what you are talking about. I am not being mean it’s just that this is a very serious matter. I love my guinea pig so much and would hate for anything to happen to him. He is 4 and a half and the vet did tell me that surgery is a possibility but because of his age it is not a good idea. He is not being put-down that’s for sure.
I have researched it, but is become thinner a sign? And do you think he has got it?

My six month old cat recently developed a urinary tract infection and we brought him to the vet and he is now on a special medicine and diet. Ever since then, though, he has been peeing everywhere (on clothes, beds, even in our bath tub) as if he was never litter box trained! Does anyone know why this is or what we should do?

Okay, on October 1st of 2008 (My 17th birthday) I had very intense kidney pain, which my father concluded was gas, and it went away after an hour helped by a low dose of hydrocodone. On the 17th, I had the same pain, but it was much more intense and the hydrocodone did not help so we went to the emergency room where they diagnosed me with a kidney stone. Well since then, the pain has become more frequent, and now it’s almost every day to every other day and it lasts for hours. I’m prescribed Vicodin for the pain, but it doesn’t seem to help anymore. I’m taking 1010 mg, and it doesn’t really help, so I assume that I’m becoming tolerant to the medicine. Is it normal for someone to have kidney pain this frequently from kidney stones? and should I have them change my medication, would it help? I find that moist heat and pressure sometimes help, does anything else help with the pain? The doctors are doing tests and stuff, but I’m not sure if they’ll be able to do much for me because i’ve read they’re incurable. If you have any advice, I’d really appreciate it.
i’m almost 100 percent sure its not the same stone. I’ve only had two CT scans, but they think they’re different stones, especially since i first started experiencing it almost six months ago..
oh yeah, and I know to avoid foods with a lot of sodium, I try to drink lemonade and acidic drinks to break them up, and i’m seeing a the nephologist later today, thats why I wanted to know a little bit more before going in.

My mother has just found out that she has Gall stones. She is pretty healthy and she is at the right weight. She has beenn taking prednisone which is a medicine for Asthma for 20 years. She has just recently been taken higher doses. Could prednisone caused her to have Gall Stones?

I passed one kidney stone already last Wednesday and I have another one and the pain is exhausting!!! I am going to a urologist tomorrow morning. They said it is a size 4mm. It is costing me time off of work. It is really starting to disrupt my life. I do have pain medicine from the emergency room. I just keep taking off of work. Any advice on this subject.

Hi, got a few questions to ask, I had an older brother who suddenly died in 2007 due to "MR-SA" (SO Im told rather). He was actually a drowning victim. My brother was almost 6 ft tall, how could he drown in a pool not as deep as he is tall? He complained of hip pain the dr said it was a kidney stone, when that wasnt passed he went back. Its a kidney infection. That never cleared up. My brother was 27 years old. He eventually had to have a pick line run from his arm to his heart so the antibiotics would work. His meds were upwads of 300 a wk. He could barely walk it hurt him so bad. It started as what we thought a kidney infection and got worse. He was swimming with his wife and kids one day and everyone thought he was playing until he was flipped over in the pool. He had to of had something happen to him while he was in the air. Im sorry, this just does not make sense to me. The drs could not tell him what was wrong but it was so bad he had to be hospitalized. He had to have an iv put in his body to constantly wear for medicine, It was more than a kidney infection. After he drown the ems arrived and pronounced him doa(dead on arrival) he was given cpr and brought back. The time he had spent in the pool while he was under had made my brother brain dead. He was with us in body but his mind died in that pool. He was put in intensive care for two days and several test run. No brain activity. That I understand. Watching as my brother took his last breath was heartbreaking at the least. I am only wondering what lead up to this. The drs didnt know.What exactly is MRSA? Ive read some on it it is very strong. Antibiotics dont hold a candle to it. The hip pain he complained of? Ive thought this and never voiced it he had found a baby deer in the woods prior to this had he somehow contracted lyme disease, If so can it kill you that fast?? In lesss than two months time? Any one who can help shed some light pl;ease help.

I’m 18 years old and I have just recently gotten kidney stones. Its really unusual for girls my age to get them. I’ve gone to the doctor and got medicine but sometimes the pain is unbearable. Can anyone give me any suggestions to get through the pain?
i had a stone in my kidney 9 months ago and i get laser treatment 7 months ago..laser burst the stone and then after more than a month i feel pain in my testicle,back on the kidney side and on the side of the thigh.doctors kept stud for a month inside my body.and it works only for one and a half month.after that i get pain again…i consult doctor and he found crystals and acid in my pee..i get medicine from my doctor and whenever i used medicine i feel better and i completed my dose and i get pain again,.the medicine i used was nouric,and even now i feel pain in testicle,kidney back and side thigh.please help me and advice me sum cure for this problem!

I am convinced it is damage left from stones (kidneys,ureter) that does not explain the left. My doctors either do not believe me or think it is imaginary. I have never had a health problem before my first stone. Desperately seeking solutions
has anyone else had this problem and gotten a resolution. I am currently getting all my records sent to me and I am going to try a new doctor. It is destructive to my ability to function normally.

i am 28 weeks pregnant and i have noticed in the past couple of weeks i have been having alot of white discharge. im not sure if its a yeast infection or if its just excess discharge from the pregnancy. it doesnt have the consistency of "cottage cheese" like you would normally get from a yeast infection but its also not watery either. it doesnt burn when i pee or really itch. i will go a day and get the occasional itch but its more like a "tickle itch" if that makes sense, like the discharge is leaking out and it causes me to itch(sorry if tmi) but its not like the extreme i-gotta-itch-right-now feeling that you get with a yeast infection. does this sound like normal discharge or a yeast infection? i go to the doctor thursday and im going to ask them but i was just curious to see what you had to say.
i have also been having muscle spasms in my back that are sometimes soo painful it makes me throw up. i have already went to the doctor about this b/c it was hurting right around my kidneys but they ran tests and said it was not stones or an infection but they said the only other thing is muscle spasms b/c the weight of my belly is pulling on those muscles. what are some things i can do to relieve that pain? im trying to go without taking medicine unless it is just unbearable. ive only had to take tylenol twice for migraine headaches so any other kind of remedies would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance to those that answer.

I am a patient of a pain mgmt clinic and have been on main medicine for a year now. I’m currently on Percocet 10mg/350mg tablets and am supposed to take a daily max of 4 per day. I have a kidney condition that causes chronic pain. I also frequently have kidney stones as well. I am having a dilemma right now. Although I have plenty of pain meds (63 left), I take one as directed, but it barely touches this terrible pain im going through right now. I’d like to go to the ER and get checked out because my doctor wont prescribe anything for me that would be stronger until my 2/2/10 visit. But I know from experience that the ER usually gives percocet 5/350 for take-home meds. Of course this wont help my pain at all. They typically give me dilauded in the hospital through an iv, which takes the pain away completely, no matter the intensity. Is there someone who can help me make the decision as to whether I should go to the ER? If so, if I explained to the doctor that my home meds arent helping with the pain, would they prescribe something stronger than my Percocet 10/350 that I have now, or are they only allowed to prescribe up to 5/350 percocet? I’m allergic to vicoden and percocet is more effective for me than lortab, as Ive learned through past experience. What medication should I ask for if they allow me to decide if I wind up in the ER tomorrow? I just dont want to pay the huge co-pay there, only to be discharged with medication that’s weaker than what I already have at home. I doubt they will give me dilauded to take home, despite the high effectiveness of the medication. What should I do? Please help me! If you have a history of chronic pain, but havent had a kidney stone, the pain gradually worsens to a 10 on a 1-10 scale eventually, before passing. My pain is at a 6 right now and I know it will be much worse in the morning. And please dont waste your and my time if you cant give me a mature answer based on professionalism and/or experience. A real, helpful answer will get the best answer asap as I am getting more pain by the hour and will probably go to the ER and see what happens tomorrow if I dont get a good answer on here.
