I’ve never had a weight problem until I started medication when I was 18 for an illiness I had. I went from 130 to 200 by the time I was 20. I’ve done everything you can think of to lose weight. I’m not an over eatter and I don’t binge on junk food. I’ve always had the same eatting style and lifestyle. I do blame the drugs for the weight can. The drug I was one does increase the levels of cortisol while you are taking it. I’ve been off it a while now. My midsecion and face is plump and my legs very thin. I just passed a kidney stone and I have a small hump on my back. These are some of the symptoms I found of cushings. I also read that people get falsely diagonsed with PCOS instead of cushings. Please answer only if you have experience with this.

I drink ALOT of water, no coffee, no sodas, not on any medication. This is the 3rd time this year I’ve had this, never have passed a kidney stone. It usually goes away within a week.

Basics about me: I’m in my early 20s. I’m relatively healthy, I currently have kidney stones I’m trying to pass (this is definitely not kidney stone pain!). I’m sexually active. I’ve been on Ocella birth control for 3yrs. I have no children, nor have I been pregnant.

Friday this pain started on my left side that just seemed like REALLY bad cramps. I pretty much just tried to ignore it as best as possible and go about my life. Tonight, uh yesterday at about 8 I started feeling the pain again. I went to the restroom and it felt better. Then it started feeling a lot worse about 2hrs later. So I took some ibuprofen, which knocked me into sleep. My fiance woke me up to take my regularly prescribed medication and to get out of my day clothes at 3am. And I’ve been awake since running to the bath room trying to urinate and having general stomach upset. The pain is in my pelvis region on the left side. I can feel it threw my back just above my buttocks and it reaches down my insides towards my vaginal and urinary canal openings and to my left leg at my groin at time times. I will more the likely try to make a doctors appointment Monday (definitely will if it continues), but I just need some relief from my pain so finding out what it could be would help me figure out a way to temporarily relieve my pain enough to sleep and go out tomorrow.

last nite i went to the ER because i was in agonizing pain
as it turns out, i had a very tiny kidney stone that would take a couple of days before it could be passed out
it was like about 4mm
so my question is, do u always throw up when u have a stone that small even without medication?

my nefue last year got really sick. first he had strep throat and all of his throat swelled up from the inside out and then all of a sudden his ankle started swelling up too, and these red spots that were identified by the doctor as burst blood vesseles apeared all over his face and through out the rest of his body. after he was rushed to the hospital the doctor told us that my 4 yr old nefue had kidney stones, and he was peeing blood. and the reason he was peeing blood was because his intestines were some how "i think" digesting the blood that his body was making. and he ended up in intensive care for several months. we dont know how he got it or what caused it, and niether do the doctors. we had him checked out by 5 specialists. and they couldnt figure out how or why he got the way he was. the doctor put him on 2 types of meds. the first type of medication he gave him was something for his blood pressure. and then the 2nd kind was steroids to calm his body down. after that my nefue was put on a very strict diet do to his medication and his current symptoms.the doctor told us to be carefull because there is a chance it will come back. so we went the whole year with no signs of anyt thing. than all of a sudden april comes along again and the same symptoms begin to occur all over again. i am very scared, his mother and i already nottified the doctor, but i just wanted to know if anyone had any expireience with this and if they know anything about it plz let me know whats going on and why did it decide to come back the next year on the same exact month as it happened before? im really worried, cuz what ever he has attacks his amune system really bad. i want everything to be okay. plz help me…

I believe that my dog has a urinary tract infection and I am looking for an antibiotic that I can get online. She is a field spaniel/lab mix and is about 20 Lbs. I know there are a lot of people who are going to say I should just take her to a vet, but I’m pretty confident that it is a urinary infection and I don’t want to pay a vet a hundred dollars just to tell me the name of what is probably a very common medication.

I used to never get sick then I moved to a new state and I feel like i’m sick all of the time! This past month i’ve had two kidney stones that messed me up for a week at a time. Now i feel like I have the flu (nauseous, body aches, fever, chills) I’m always tired ALWAYS. I have low thyroid but i’m on medication for it. I’m dizzy 90% of the time and feel like i’m gonna pass out about as much. I’m so sick of being sick but I don’t have insurance to be going to the doctor to get a bunch of tests done. I’m wondering if maybe it’s a diet problem…I don’t eat the healthiest (constantly on the go) but i’m not overweight. I usually eat fish and salads but probably get mcdonalds a couple times a week when ‘m on my way to class. Oh and i get migraines but i’ve always had those. Anyway does this sound like anything or am i just a hypochondriac lol.

first off i have anxiety,take kolonopin*, and two months ago i had my tonsils out lots of medication, now that i have been off meds for three weeks, i have worse anxiety, sweet taste in mouth, and always have been thirsty, my stomach has gerd like symptoms all the time but ppi i started a month ago don’t stop the reflux, pain in my abdomen, i don’t have a history of diabetes in my family and i’m not at all over or under weight, the pain is more on the right then the left top of ribs to back area and i have mild elevated biliruben count, tired a lot, sleepless nights, however i have had tests for kidney stones,blood work, and gallstones, also i don’t smoke or drink! and i have changed my diet to fish n bread for the most part! serious answers please!!!!!!!

My friend has an outside lab that hasn’t been eating for the past two days and is taking in very little water. She’s planning on giving him a boost of B12, which will hopefully help his appetite, and I recommended that she smear some peanut butter on his gums for protein and hopefully it’ll encourage him to drink more. He hasn’t passed anything through his system and doesn’t act sore – his temperature is at a low 99. She says the only thing off is his diet and the fact that when he urinates, it comes out in short bursts, making us think there could be something wrong with his kidneys or urinary tract. We’ve ruled out any tract infection, which would cause him to have a temperature, so I wonder if it’s possible for male dogs to pass kidney stones, or if maybe there could be some prostate swelling.

Or anything else. Ideas, please, on how to get him in better health.
First off, don’t tell us that we need to take him to the vet or how he should be supervised. The dog has been in a closed off area of 3 acres for all his life and it’s almost certain that he hasn’t been into something, as it’s THEIR BACKYARD. Human medication, you say? Well I didn’t ask if B12 was okay to give, BECAUSE I ALREADY KNOW IT IS.

A urinary tract infection, or ANY infection, is indication of a fever. He isn’t running one. THAT’S how we know. I hate using this community for answers and only do so in emergencies because you people are ass holes and are extremely repetitive.

Not everyone has the money to run their dog to the vet over every little thing, especially when things are like they are for the economy. Some things have to be put before others in times like this, and a dog isn’t one of the main priorities, especially if there’s hope that it can be fixed at home.

So any advice that isn’t the OBVIOUS, please.

I have been trying to flush out a kidney stone for 5 weeks by drinking a LOT of water – about 3 gallons a day (to me that is a lot of water).

The pain became so awful around 2:30 a.m. I went to the ER. They did a CAT scan, said the stone was about 5mm. I was given a prescription for Percocet and took one about 13 hours after I left the ER – I was driving home from work and the pain hits like a rocket out of nowhere without warning. Anyway, the Percocet are 325mg…it stopped the pain but I awoke with a headache and today at work people are asking me what is wrong…I guess I look pretty haggard! I’m a little tired but feel pretty good. Can Percocet make you feel tired even several (20) hours after taking it? I thought it might be a combo of being tired from the pain and the after-effect of the medication.

We’ve had our kitten for about a month and a half now, and when we received him they were feeding him strictly on Science Diet Healty Development. We continued to feed him it, untill we ran out and decided to buy the cheaper Purina Kitten Chow. Now he has a really bad UTI, and we had him on medication, which worked for a while ’till we ran out of the medication, then the UTI just came back again.
My mother thinks the Purina is causeing him kidney stones, whch is causeing the UTI. So I am wondering, can Purina Kitten Chow cause kidney stones?

I’m 20 weeks pregnant right now.Couple of months ago I noticed blood on the tissue (bright) when I went to the bathroom in the morning. I was very scarred.I tought is coming from the placenta. Later I realized (1 month later) it was coming from the urine. My doctor prescribed me amoxicillin. He sad is bladder infection (without even taking a test!!!) I felt very bad taking those pills, but I assumed is better, and hopefully it won’t affect the baby. Now 1 month later I’m back were I was, even worse. For the last 2 1/2 weeks my urine is awful.Bloody, especially in the morning, and my kidney hurt.I have to mention,I have kidney stone for couple of years now.I felt it moving in the last couple of days.I do not have any other symptoms.No fever,nausea,I have very good appetite. My urine is dark, has white flaky thing in it, and bloody, with bloody little tissues floating. I’m very scarred for my baby. I do not want any medication or stent put in.I’m going to the doctor on tuesday.
I haven’t mention this: I drink no coffee,sodas or sugary stuff, I drink cranberry juice every day and 3 liters of water.I’m very carefull with everything.I still think is my kidney stone.

Around this same time last year I had a kidney infection that lasted about 2 weeks. The only thing that really felt wrong then was I had a lot of pain in my lower left side of my back so I went to the doctor and did a urine test and they said there were white blood cells found. They said it could either be an infection or kidney stones. They prescribed me some Bactrim and Oxycodone. Less than a week into the medication I felt completely better.

This time I have the same symptoms – pain in my lower left side of my back. It’s been a total of 2 weeks and 4 days since the symptoms surfaced. The pain is much worse this time. I also feel like I have a fever off and on, I have almost no appetite, and I feel nauseated often. I went to the doctor again and they prescribed me the same drugs but 2 weeks later I am not feeling any better whatsoever. On top of that, the pain killers I think are causing my nausea. I have to lay down almost constantly and sitting in a chair is agony. I went back to the doctor and got Ciproflaxacin and almost a week into that one… still not better. I wake up in the middle of the night in so much pain even last night. The pain killers don’t last long enough during the night to let me sleep. I just feel terrible all the time now.

I’m beginning to think this is more than a kidney infection. The doctor prescribed a CT Scan but I don’t want to fork over the funds to do that if it is just an infection and I’m being impatient.

How long could/should a kidney infection last when taking all of your medication correctly?
How long should I wait before I go to the hospital to get a CT Scan?

My husband went through Lithotripsy on 15th JAn morning.Since then he has problem of bowel movement even after glycerin supplement ( almond with nut shaped bowel passed),and some water inserted in emergency ( Just about 100 gram stool passed) X ray shows right side of large intestine is full. and there was little bit at the end which came out after emergency procedure. last night he has medication for passing the bowel I don’t know what will happen in morning. it is night now.

I am 47 years old. My periods have been lighter the past few months but they normally last 7 days. I started my period on February 14 and I am still on my period. It is not heavy bleeding at all. The only medication I am on is Triamtereene/HC TZ 37.85/25 CPBRR for high blood pressure which I have been on for a while. I called my gynegologist and they made me an appointment for March 20th. I called and spoke with the nurse yesterday because I was hoping to come in before the 20th and she said to tell the doctor when I come in on the 20th and he will probably run some blood tests. I bought some Uristat and took that last night just in case it has to do with my urinary tract. I have had 4 kidney stones in the past and each time I have different symptoms. I don’t know if this is a female problem or kidney, bladder problem. I am going on vacation the week of March 11th and I wish that I could find out what is wrong before my vacation.

4 or 5 days ago I went for my first 7 mile walk and about 2 days after that I went to sleep and woke up and had severe pain in the back my right side, like above the lovehandle(i dunno what its called) when I got up, took my pain medication and it went away. then the same thing happened the day after and it went away with medicine. Now it feels less painful but it’s in the front and back now. What is wrong?

my girlfriend keeps going into these spells were she starts vomiting every 5 minutes for hours, till the point were nothing is even comming up accept for this bright yellow liquid.

the symptoms: constant vomiting, migraines, stomach pain, unusual pain in the mid region.

the spells last for about 5-10 hours. and its about the 4th time its happened since around new years.

she has gone to E.R. twice already and they only treat the situation but never give a diagnosis. she has gone through the MRI etc,,, and they said there is no sign of ulcers or kidney stones.

there is also absolutely no patters from her diet that trigger these spells. it just happens all of a sudden.

just looking for a helpful opinion or tip of some sort. we don’t know what to do and the doctors seem to stop trying to help since they cant figure it out. need help.

she has also had problems with birth control in the past but the doctors seem to brush off that detail. she is also not pregrant or has any illness’s and take no medication for anything.

Recently I’ve been having blood on and off in my urine for a couple years now, with no other symptoms. I put it off in my mind has just irritation and drank some cranberry juice for it.

I finally was able to get the nerve to go the doctor. She tested my urine and said there was a big trace amount of microscopic blood in there and ruled it has a UTI and gave me some antibiotics.

I’m done with my antibiotics, but I’m still having some dark urine, especially in the mornings but then it will go away throughout the day.

The only other symptoms I’m really having is a very faint dull pain in the area where my right kidney is, but it’s not even that much to notice and it goes away fairly quickly. Also, when I pee there is a strange feeling of pressure and I can almost feel the urine coming down through my urethra before it gets out of my body and it comes with a slight stinging sensation, but it’s not anything drastic. Also, sometimes when there’s no visible blood in my urine, it looks cloudy and milky.

My questions are: Could this be a kidney stone even without the really bad pain that’s usually associated with them? Could it still be a UTI and I just need more medication? Do UTIs last a long time? Can kidney stones last a long time and still not be passed? I’m really worried that I might have kidney or bladder cancer but I’m only 19 years old and I’m not a smoker.

Any information would be amazing. Thanks!

ok so i have a kidney stone (small) and i’m in some pain, i had to go to the ER and they told me to drink plenty of fluids till i pass (piss) the stone out myself, and they prescribed me a pain medication. i heard its hurts like hell to pass a kidney stone. is this my only option? to drink water till the stone comes out. how pailful will that be? and how long does it usually take to pass a stone? is it possible to pass a stone with little to no pain?

I just found out I have a urinary tract infection and am on antibiotics to treat it. I am a little worried since my period is also three days late. Could the doctors have been able to tell if I was pregnant from the urine test or not? Is it dangerous to take the medication if I am pregnant?
