My dog is sick. It started 3 weeks ago when he wouldn’t pee – brought him into the vet and they removed a mucus plug, but the next weekend, he was back to the same issue. Again they removed a mucus plug and suggested an ultrasound. We scheduled one. The next weekend, he was doing better on acidic meds to break up what they thought were beginning kidney stones. He was doing okay so they canceled the ultrasound. Then, in the middle of the week, he had a complete turn around. Now he couldn’t stop himself from peeing!!! And it was happening to the point where he’d piss and then just lay in his own pee because he was so lethargic. He started throwing up. We brought him back into the vet and they put him on anti-inflamatory’s and new food (C/D diet) because we thought that was the problem. Now his potty problems seem to have disappeared – but he’s still incredibly lethargic and is puking ALL the time. I am running out of money to bring him in. He’s also got slimy stuff from his mouth.

right, im 15 but i have kidney disease which causes kidney stones.

i recently woke up with bright red urineand pain when i wee so went to the doctors and sent a sample off, in the meantime they gave me antibiotics, which (for the moment) have cleared my symptoms,, although i still have some pain.

other symptoms that i still have are tiredness, generallyy feeling under the weather, i have chronic pain anyway but the pain seems to have gotten worse.

in the past iv had experiences with antibiotcs stopping the symptoms for as long as im on them and then the symptoms coming back as soon as im off them.

do you think this is an infection or a kidney stone ?

what shall i do ?

About a month ago they found calcium in my urine. Then on the 10th they found a small amount of blood. Yesterday they found a small amount of blood. Then tonight I wen to the ER for back pain I have been having for the past 3-5 days in the kidney region, mostly on the "right" side. The doctor told me that it didn’t sound like pain from a kidney stone, but said he has been wrong before. He mentioned I have chronic back pain, then sent me for a CAT scan of my kidneys.
The Tech found 1 small stone in my "right" kidney and a small amount of blood in my urine, 3-5 something per something, I don’t remember exactly. He says it is nothing to worry about because it is so small. The nurse told me if my urine gets darker or the pain gets worse to come back in.
Last October I had what I thought was a flu, due to back pain and a fever. It turned out to be a 6mm kidney stone stuck in my ureter that blocked off my left kidney filling it with puss. The infection then spread to my blood stream (ecoli). I am now scared to death of kidney stones. Three days into my 6 day stay in the hospital, the doctor came in and told me "you know, when you first came in here you were dying"
I am 28 years old.
Should I be concerned??? What should I do??? My back is so sore. I have other problems if you want to read my other questions.
I am just so afraid it will grow and block me up again. Two of my kids birthdays are in October, I missed them both last year, ER on 1, admitted on the other. Then on my wedding anniversary, same month, I had a lithrotripsy. I don’t want to repeat that.
I have had 4 vaginal births, so my pain tolerance is up there. But I also have fibromyalgia, so everything hurts.
Help, what should I do?
also have a uterine prolapse, cystocele and rectocele. Is this related?
By are they related, I mean are these problems causing the kidney stones because of the inability to empty bladder or something???
With my last kidney stone and infection, I had a stent implanted before my lithrotripsy. I don’t know the size of the stone. All he said was small. The doctor said he didn’t see it just the tech or something to that effect. He didn’t seem to take me too seriously though. Attributing my pain to chronic back pain and telling me it didn’t sound like a kidney stone. He only did the CAT scan to rule it out. I don’t think he expected to see anything, nor do I think he even really looked. It was just the way he acted.
My take home paperwork didn’t even say Kidney Stone, it said, lower back pain. No hematuria, No Kidney stone, yet he tols me both were wrong.
I think having the diagnosis fibromyalgia on your recors is more of a curse. They just don’t take you seriously.

I had a couple kidney stones removed and still have a very small one that may eventually have to be removed. I watch my salt intake now b/c i think that can help kidney stones grow. i’m thinking maybe about teaching English in or near Seoul, but am afraid it will be hard to find foods that aren’t high oxalate or really salty. I also wouldn’t mind teaching in Thailand. Maybe the foods are less dangerous there for a person who’s had kidney stones. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

i want to ask how long does pain from a kidney stone last? When i get a pain in my right side and back it last up to five mins. it usually happens when i am urinating and the pain is so much that i have to stop. does that sound like i have a kidney stone?

Ok, so i wanted to know a little more about this. Does EVERYBODY pass kidney stones? Is it like something everybody does. E,g, everybody urinates. So as asked above, does everyone pass a stone at some stage or is it just certain people and what brings them on/causes them?
What can be done to prevent them? Plenty of fluids by the sounds of the answers.

My 10-year old dog, (un-neutered male rottie-shepherd X) had blood in his urine and I took him to the vet. They said he had crystals in his urine and to give him Novomoxin (4 tabs/day for 10 days). He finished his meds 2 days ago but he still had some blood in his urine! We went back to the vet and urine was tested. Vet said that he may possibly have kidney stones (X-Ray sched. tomorrow) and that he should get neutered as well.
Vet said the UTI was caused from lack of proper nutrition in dog food. I have been feeding him Natural Balance Potato & Duck (wet mixed with dry) for OVER 1 YEAR so my questions are:
1: Is the above food is not nutritious enough for him/low quality to cause the UTI (or any other health problems)?
2: Why is this happening now??
3: What exactly should a dog be eating for optimal health? Vet recommended Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Science Diet & ProPlan but I think there are too many by-products/additives and I want my dog to eat the healthiest food.

So I’m a 15 year old female that weighs 99 pounds and is 5′3". I know I don’t weigh much but my lower stomach has a bulge. It’s visible too. So I just want to get rid of the bulge and nothing more. I get teased at school for it sometimes, especially afterschool when my drill team shares the gym with the dance team.

I have scoliosis, Tietze’s disease and kidney stones. All of these prevent me from doing a hardcore workout or run. I could do it but afterwards the pain is too much. Also I get nauseous around food so I only eat when I feel really hungry.

Basically I just need some easy excercises that won’t hurt my ribs too much. Also if it matters I do take birth control.

few months ago doctor told me that i have couple of kidney stones. after that i was suppose to go to the specialist but they never called. it wasnt a private hospital so the service is not that great. it’s been 4 months now and from the last couple of days i have feeling again in the same area and in my lower navel area. and now it kind of hurts.

I’ve had a pretty difficult past few yrs. I was in 2 year relationship and I found out I was pregnant. When I was 3 months pregnant I found out that my best friend took advantage of me when I was drunk. ( I should have been more responsible). His sister e-mailed me and told me that her brother told her that my baby might be his. I told boyfriend about it and he stood by myside. Then on Christmas eve he broke up with me. Minding you I just turned 9 months. He blew me off for the rest of the time but only went with me to my prenatal visits. 3days before my son was born he started dating this girl from work. And kept lying to me about he just needed to to himself. A couple days later we tooka paternity test and found out that he was not the father. I was devistated and went into a form of depression. I was so blinded by everything that he would tell me after that with all the " I Love You’s" & the "I dont want to be with her" and messing with my head, he continued to have a whenever-he- felt-like-it- relationship with me. Then I became pregnant by him and he had me have an abortion because he didnt want it and I couldn’t take care of another child. But by the time i went to have the procedure done, i have an ectoptic pregnancy and had to have the procedure done regardless. Then few months later I met my husband. At first we didnt look at each other in any sexual kind of way since we both just came out of pretty bad relationships. The first week we talked non-stop, about anything and everything. He fell in love with my son from the day he met him. 2 months later we got married. Everything happened so fast. From the time we got married my husbands help went down hill. We got married in September. In september he found out he had kidney stones, October Pnemonia, November atrial fibulation (which is very rare in a 24yrs old.) December, upper respiratory infection that lasted 2weeks. January his Gerd and acid reflex was really bad. April he had another upper respiratory infection and found out he has asthma. This monday he just had surgery because he had an inguinal hernia. in December he got laid off from work. And we had to move back to my parents house in April, (due to financial problems.) July he decided to go back to school for his Bachlors’ in Business Management & got his job back working part-time. I just graduated from Medical Assisting and got my diploma last months. I can’t afford daycare so I can work or have anyone in my family that can watch him until I can find a daycare i can afford. Then being a first time mom while my sons going through his teribble two’s at one, and getting spoiled by my parents. I still havent found a job yet. Then my husband is also a rapper and put his dreams aside and decided that now is the time to start. He’d leave the house at 8′oclock and wont come back until 4 in the morning. I dont know what to do. My family tells me thats not good, and i trust & love him but have second thoughts. Can anyone give me advice on how to cope with stress?

Basics about me: I’m in my early 20s. I’m relatively healthy, I currently have kidney stones I’m trying to pass (this is definitely not kidney stone pain!). I’m sexually active. I’ve been on Ocella birth control for 3yrs. I have no children, nor have I been pregnant.

Friday this pain started on my left side that just seemed like REALLY bad cramps. I pretty much just tried to ignore it as best as possible and go about my life. Tonight, uh yesterday at about 8 I started feeling the pain again. I went to the restroom and it felt better. Then it started feeling a lot worse about 2hrs later. So I took some ibuprofen, which knocked me into sleep. My fiance woke me up to take my regularly prescribed medication and to get out of my day clothes at 3am. And I’ve been awake since running to the bath room trying to urinate and having general stomach upset. The pain is in my pelvis region on the left side. I can feel it threw my back just above my buttocks and it reaches down my insides towards my vaginal and urinary canal openings and to my left leg at my groin at time times. I will more the likely try to make a doctors appointment Monday (definitely will if it continues), but I just need some relief from my pain so finding out what it could be would help me figure out a way to temporarily relieve my pain enough to sleep and go out tomorrow.

I’m a 14 year old girl (5′1, 88lbs) I HATE HOW I LOOK
I’m extremely bony, I SO want to gain weight (I had an eating disorder a few months ago)
i want to gain HEALTHY weight (muscle)..So I’m on a high protein and carb diet. I ONLY eat healthy foods. I very rarely eat junk. plus I exercise 3 days a week (20-30mins of cardio 45mins/1hr strength training) I also take 1hr pilate classes 5-6 days a week..

I heard that calcium can do a lot for your hair, and someone told me that it can prevent or put off a current hairline.
Most of the men on my dad’s side of the family have had baldness to some extent.
No one on my mother’s side of the family has had hairloss including my grandfather who didn’t seem to lose any hair until he died in his mid-70’s.
I have an average amount of body hair, maybe a little more. I have hairy legs and a unibrow if I don’t shave it, but everything else seems about average for my age.
I have a lot of calcium in my body, so much so that I have been prone to getting kidney stones since I was in 5th grade. I think this is why my bones and teeth are so strong.
So, with the information given, do you think I’ll end up bald or with significant hairloss?
Maybe I should mention that I’m 15 and have a straight hairline. It goes back very little on the sides, a bit less of a recede than I see on most other guys.
I would also like to ask when you think they’ll have a cure for baldness.
I also have hair like my maturnal grandfather. We both have the same color hair and it’s wavy in pretty much the same places.

For most of my life I’ve eaten mostly junk food but I never really felt bad nor did I ever get sick or have any health problems. When I stopped that, lost weight, and ate only healthy food I’ve been having constant problems and getting sick. I’ve gotten several colds since I’ve stopped where before I haven’t had a single cold in ten years. I’ve lost weight but I feel more tired and crappy then I did when I ate only junk food. I’m now getting kidney stones and UTI’s as well as lower and upper back pain and arm and chest pains ever since I started eating healthy. What the hell is wrong with me!?!? I get 8 hours of sleep a night and I get just about everything I need from my diet and anything I don’t get I take a vitamin for. I’m so frustrated and confused.
I eat mostly fruits and vegetables, rice and fish and things like that.

I took one single dose of amoxicillan and i got the horrible pressure, burning feeling like i gotta go right in my bladder. Its awful what causes this? Cranberry juice does nothing AZO makes my kidneys hurt when i got to the doctor they say no infection? Please help?

I’ve had kidney stones since I was 13 due to a side affect of topamax that peppered both kidneys. As of 2 years ago I had stent surgery in right kidney. Nothing but problems with that. But for a year I’ve been stone free. But I just had this right kidney pain, got cat scans and no stones. But my wbc is 18.2, monocytes abs 1.8, neutrophils 85, and neutrophils abs 13.7.
Can you tell me why?

I took my GSD into the vet yesterday because she had been peeing unknowingly on the floor a bit at a time. Urine tests and a blood panel show that her urinary Ph is too high (7.5) and I’m told she has crystals in her urine that are causing her to "leak." My vet put her on either Science Diet C/D PRESCRIPTION or Royal Canin Urinary SO, but I’m concerned because the 1st or 2nd ingredient in both foods is ground corn, and I thought that was JUNK that’s horrible for pets???

HELP! My vet says if I don’t feed her one of these foods for 6 months, she’ll get blood in her urine and then kidney stones that would need to be operated on or she’d die. What do you think, and is there any other foods or methods of helping crystals in the urine???

I had been feeding her Solid Gold. The vet also said absolutely NO meat or food scraps as everything except this prescription food is too high in protein.
I bought the Royal Canin Urinary SO and started her on it tonight and she LOVED it (surprised me b/c she’s picky). Just curious as to other’s opinions b/c I was told my whole life that ground corn = crap.

I am seven weeks pregnant with kidney stones in both kidneys. (multiple stones). Its been two weeks and ive felt a stone down in my right ureter that just doesnt seem to be going anywhere. I just want them to pass. Has anyone experienced a kidney stone during pregnancy and what’s the longest you’ve carried the stone before passing it. Two weeks seems like a long time. Also if down the line i have to have a stent put in, are stones able to pass while you have the stent in? I have so many unanswered questions and im only in the first trimester of my pregnancy. Please help!!!!!

My dad has had kidney stones since he was about 25. Now my sister has one at 19. Do you think I have a greater chance of getting them now since my sister has them? I’m only 13 and it scares me because I’m watching my sister go through all this pain and I don’t want to have to go through it too.
my dad said that if one child has it then the others have 0 chance of them. his doctor said that, but online it says that that is not proven, but more of an opinion. which is right?

First off Ive been takeing a new multivitamin so my urine hasnt looked or smelled right to begin with, and Ive been exercising a bit more this past two weeks to loose a few pounds so I have been haveing lower back pain. So Im not sure if those are symptoms or results from the above.
But other actually symptoms are:
burning on urethra but not when urinating and very sore to the touch.
bladder feels full but not urinating enough
white stringy discharge
and grainey or dark sedimant in urine some look like sand and some are spots nothing big but noticable after I urinate and Im not meaning to really look lol.

Could I be passing small kidney stones or is this a UTI. Ive only had one Uti and I only new it because I was vomiting , had cold sweats, and was running a 103 degree fever. HELP!
