My dog is a 9 year old Pug and weighs 21 lbs. We just took him to the Vet and we found out he has a few kidney stones. The surgery is ,000 and we can not afford it right now.
Any home remedies or supplements I could give to him would be very helpful.
Thank you so much.
Yeah, I can take care of my dog quite well actually. Which is why i’m trying to do this for him. I’d much rather keep him & take care of him instead of having no money for him or my family. But thanks for your opinion. :)

I generally laugh at home remedies, because I feel like the billions spent on medical research would confirm or deny them, BUT my friend suffered for three weeks with a kidney stone. Pain so bad they had him on morphine. He was scheduled for lithotripsy (ultrasound breaking up), but last week he started a vinegar-drinking regimen, and within two days passed huge amounts of flakes and the stone was gone. What the heck? Sounds to me like it worked. The doc pooh-poohed it, but admitted the stone was gone. What the heck?

So recently over the past 3 days my cat has been acting weird.
He cannot seem to urinate and sometimes there like droplets of red fluid. Now he’s like going anywhere he wants trying to urinate and he can’t seem to. Last night he spent the night in lying in his litterbox and this morning in a cardboard box. He seems so weak & I don’t know what to do. He doesn’t want to eat or drink anything. I just found him foaming at the mouth. :O

Are there any home remedies I can do to help him? And what could of caused this?
My parents don’t want to pay like 0 for a surgery/vet visit or anything. :(
I don’t know if this helps but my dad sometimes lets him out to explore the backyard on a leash. Plus my mom fed him the leftovers in a tuna fish can. Can overfeeding him also be a factor?

He’s like 2 years old.
This has happened before like a week ago before this. We gave it this medicine we bought from this asian medicine store and he was cured.

Now it’s up again..
-sigh-

I was hoping you wouldn’t say that. :(
I guess we’re sending it to the humane society so they can take care of it.

My parents aren’t willing to pay for the vet..
Thanks everyone.

I’ll miss my cat. :(

I recently contracted UTI (less than 24 hours ago), but I really don’t have time to go to a store any time soon and purchase the antibiotics/pills. I read on several other websites that drinking plenty of water and Vitamin C will help with the infection. If I do these things or try other home remedies, will it cure the infection, or do I have to pay a visit to the pharmacy to get rid of it? How soon do I have to cure it before it gets serious?

…or can I use any home remedies to break them up before they drop?

I don’t want to damage my kidneys, but I have had a series of expensive medical / dental problems in the past year that are depleting my savings and I’d like to be able to hold off for a while. My kidneys hurt, but its bearable.

I am 19 years old, for roughly the past year I have been having a lot of pain in the lower department and so 4 nights back I went to the hospital and they had told me it was a kidney stone and that I should be passing it within the next couple of days. They had prescribed me some pain meds, but luckily for me, my medical insurance ran out, so I wasn’t able to get them. Even more lucky for me, I have no types of pain pills at home, and payday isn’t for awhile. Trying to make it through this extreme amount of pain, but I don’t know how much more I can take. So my main question is, does anyone happen to know of some home remedies that helped them pass their stones? I have been going crazy on drinking water, Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated, and thanks in advance.
I appreciate every answer given so far, their helpful, but I promised to myself Id never drink lol, but thanks in advance :)

What’s a good medication to use for kidney stones due from dehydration? Putting into effect that they have already attempted drinking water and still has them. (No over the counter or home remedies please)

Could a z-pak, levoquin, or keflex be used for a yeast infection?

Hi,
I have a 6 mm sone in ureter(something called right hydronephrosis)I was scheduled for a ESWL(shock wave lythotripsy) when i found out i was pregnant. My pregnancy is 2-4 weeks. My gynac said that there can be serious complications during pregnancy if i continue with the stone.
If i get it removed through lythotripsy then there are high chances of miscarriage. Also they will have to do xrays and that harmful shock waves.I am more concerned about the health of baby in case he survives this surgery than miscarriage.
Is there any way so that kidney stone is removed and baby is also safe??
Please any specialist or doctors or ladies who have gome through this dilemma, please tell your experiences and please share your knowledge.
Can a 6mm stone cause kidney damage during pregnancy? Can it be harmful for the baby? What complications can be if i continue with pregnancy and wait until delivery to get rid of that stone.
What other procedures available to remove the stone in this situation?
If i go for abortion through medicines then will i be able to conceive again as this is my first pregnancy and i heard we should not take chances in case of first pregnancies.
Let me tell the whole story..I had severe pain followed by vomiting around 1 month back. After that i went to the doctor…she asked for ultrasound. Then they found a kidney sone. Then i got ctscan and xray done both at the time of pregnancy :( (.
After that day when i had that first attack..i usually have slight pain in the lower back and right side of stomach..sometimes in the lower abdomen but its not like i can not tolerate that pain. Its like slight pain and when i drink a lot of water its gone. And i never vomited also after that day.
Although yesterday i saw blood in my urine.
Please help as i am not getting proper answers from my urologist and gynac.
Most important question…can a 6mm stone be passed with urine using home remedies??If i try will that be safe for the baby?

I am 33 weeks pregnant with twins, I was just released from the hospital for kidney stones and I guess while I was in there I developed a very large external hemorrhoid ( spelling?) I have never had them, even with my first three pregnancies. And amongst the pain of the kidney stones, I never made a big deal of having one. Now that I am home, it has started to bleed and hurts so bad that it hurts to walk. I tried warm baths, and I got some little wipes made by tucks, but have already used an entire container and they say not to use more than 6 a day. My doctor is gone this weekend and a different doctor is on call, I don’t like him and I only want to call if there is absolutly no other choice. Did anyone experience this or know of someone who did, and are there some little tips or home remedies that can help soothe or even make it GO AWAY!!! Between the kidney stones and this, delevering twins is looking easier and easier.
Thank you so very much, everyone for the great answers. For those who said to push it back up in, I am actually going to try that, and if it does not work, I will suck it up and call the on call doctor. If I go to the ER, they will call him anyway. I am just prepping myself for the pain I am thinking will occur, and thank God, my husband is a wonderful man, who said he would help, he told me it might be kind of uneasy for me, but he wants to help…he said, come on now, we have kids, we can share this too, lol. After the kids are in bed I am going to give it a shot…here we go, wish me luck. Thanks again.

I’ve already been to the doctor, had blood and urine tests done, and am having an ultra sound tuesday. they gave me painkillers which I am taking at night to sleep, but can;t take during the day since I am still working (can’t be drugged up and get my butt to work right?)

So during the day i am only taking ibuprofen, which doesn’t seem to do anything really. Does anyone have any advice on how to get thru the day comfortably? I’m not in serious pain but I am pretty sore on my back, heating pads do nothing, and i get a sharp pain in my front right side at the bottom on my ribs from time to time, any home remedies or anything out there on how to feel more comfortable?
I have been drinking a ton of water per the advice of my doctor, but it seems like the more water I drink the more my back hurts?

would you recommend giving a dog coke that has kidney stones. if so how much would you say to give? what other things could i do to help get rid of the stones.
I have taken him to the vet, yes. we would like to try home remedies before the 00 surgery, seeing that money is tight. and NO i am not stupid, i read it online that in certain cases that it is exceptable, but others it said no, and I wanted other insight to this. but just so the man who said that was, if you can’t be pro about it then dont say anything. a simple no would do fine, but of course it’s wouldnt be right for you to just say no. had to add something harsh in it. thanks.

To the man who said the cranberry juice, thanks, im going to try it.

I have had kidney stones before. They are very, very painful.

I believe that I may have a kidney stone that is trying to pass. It may be lodged in one of the ureters. The pain that I have been feeling radiates from my lower back (presumably, my kidney) to my front groin area.

My nuts also have been hurting really badly, as well.

What can I do to pass the stone? Are there any home remedies?

*Going to the doctor isn’t an option. I was fired two weeks ago from my job, and my health insurance was canceled.

Here’s some background:
On September 4 I went to the ER for terrible pain in my back and abdomen. I was literally in the floor and couldn’t move. I had a CT scan which confirmed I had large kidney stone high in the urethra (just below the kidney). They gave me morphine it eased the pain, they prescribed vicodin, and sent me home. I’m assuming they did nothing more, because I said I didn’t have insurance. Which unfortunately for me I did, as my school had picked me up earlier than planed and failed to tell me. I’ve never had a kidney stone before so I read online for home remedies, and the pain didn’t occur again until October 4. So once again I went to the ER but morphine didn’t do the trick after 3 doses so I was given toradol, prescription for percocet, and a number for an appointment with a urologist.

The vicodin didn’t even touch the pain so that’s why I went to the ER a second time. However, the percocet worked wonders and virtually took all the pain away. After scheduling to see the urologist it was roughly a 3 week wait. By the next week the pain was unbearable and the percocet did nothing, so my mom who is friend’s with a urologist in my hometown had him phone the doctor I was supposed to see to get me in sooner. Since she was unable to see me I was given a different doctor, and upon meeting him the first day he had me in surgery that afternoon to put a stent in my right kidney. I met with him various times over the next month or so for "follow-ups", and I have since been scheduled for lithotripsy on November 17.

After the surgery the next 3-5 days were very uncomfortable, but I got used to the stent and was able to return to regular activities with the help of a percocet a day. I met with the doctor two weeks ago and told him I was uncomfortable and in moderate pain, but he seemed to just shrug it off. The first of the month seems to be when problems really occur. November 3 I was in unbearable pain again, and nothing helped. My urologist is on vacation, so I saw another one who works in his office, because I was having troubling urinating and my urethra felt as if something sharp were trying to come out and it hurt to do anything. After anything I said she was quick to say it was "classical side effects of the stent", but to me it doesn’t feel like the stent it feels like something more is going on in there and it just doesn’t feel right. She ordered a x-ray and I had to give a urine sample. I couldn’t pee so she had an in- and- out catheter put in me to drain the urine. The urine showed no infection, and I was told the x-ray showed the stent in proper placement, and the stone hasn’t moved.

The pain is unbearable, and is really affecting my life as I go to college throughout the week. I’ve had to leave and miss more classes than allowed, thankfully I have VERY understanding teachers otherwise I would fail.

Nothing takes the pain away (vicodin, percocet, pyridium, ultram). On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst my pain stays between an 8 and 9. So I’m wondering if anyone else has had this sort of problem in dealing with kidney stones. I generally take two percocets and lay on a heating pad to try and relax. I’ve also soaked in hot baths during the afternoon to try and relax, but I don’t like doing this since I am more prone to infections with the stent.

What are your thoughts? Do you think it’s just the stent, and my body is rejecting it horribly or could it be something else? The doctors don’t seem too concerned with what I am telling them since I feel like they think I’m exaggerating (which I have no reason to exaggerate, I might add)

Thanks to all in advance who take the time to read this and response!

Do you know any home remedies to get rid of them besides drinking lots of water. I have had three in the past year. The first one, an 8 mm stone, got me outpatient surgery (lithotripsy), and the second, a 5mm stone, sent me to the ER for half a day.
I think mine are the calcium type stones, but I don’t want to cut out too much calcium because of ostioperosis. I have heard that stones are hereditary and they run on my fathers side. Thanks to anyone who answers and is trying to help me!!!!
