The tricep on my right arm has felt sore during the past three weeks. – This pain has gotten so intense occasionally that I can barely turn my head, when this knot in my muscle creeps up my shoulder.
In aim to remedy this pain, I follow the advice of my Grandmother, who passed away at the age of 103 years in 2010. Oma advised to take Calcium tablets. When I take Calcium tabs, the pain instantly subsides!
Myself being one who thinks "what if?", I’m considering the Side-effects that this Rx can cause elsewhere in my body. %Am I risking possible troubles in my kidneys or bladder (gall stones) in my body by increasing my calcium intake (600 mg tabs)?
I am taking these once every 12-hours….. <-Should the repetition of dosage matter how / if any side-effects become a problem?
At a recent dental visit, I asked and am told my Dentist to take Glucosamine Condroitin tabs for my muscle-condition. What are the side-effects to taking Glucosamine Condroitin instead of Calcium tablets to remedy my muscle soreness in my arm?
Searching for A CAUSE to this pain, I want to blame my leaving my arm in a "non-moving" position at my terminal for hours at a time. – Getting up and walking around does not seem to totally remedy this muscle-soreness in my arm.

I have no General Practitioner to ask, which is why I’m asking this in here.
Thanks for known re’s.

My mom has gall stones, and her dr. says she needs to have her gall bladder removed. She would like to hear some other people’s experiences with gall stones. Have you ever had them? Did you have to have your gall bladder removed? If so, what was the recovery like, and how large/how many were your scars? How long was it before you were back at work after the surgery?

Thanks for any answers!

One of my friends had gastric bypass surgery in July (one of the side we were told about was gall stones/attacks). On christmas she was complaining of the following: bad indigestion and gas (not relieved even by taking four anti-gas pills, pain near the breastbone, constipation that would not go away with laxitives, and pain near the shoulders and in the back. Any help?
Also, my friend is currently laid off and so she does not want to pay for a doctor unless it is absolutely necessary.

Hello all,

To make a long story short….
A friend of a friend is having major surgery in 3 days. I don’t know this person very well but I offered to look after him after their surgery as there is nobody in town (or even this state!) to help out.

The surgery is abdominal, gallbladder/gall stones. Also found out today that they have kidney disease.

Since I don’t know this person and don’t know the comfort items they would like I am really at a loss. I have no idea. We will be staying at their house so that he feels more comfortable there.

I know this person doesn’t like sports.
Any ideas you have would be great!
I really really appreciate it!

I am one of the unlucky few that suffers from very painful gallstone attacks quite frequently, and with lacking insurance and not having a very large income, I am unable to afford the removal surgery.

I’ve read lots of various things that state ways one can naturally get rid of gall stones, but I’m wondering if any of you have tried them, what worked for you? I’d love to find something I can do every few months to flush them out of my system till I am able to obtain insurance and have it the required length of time to qualify for surgery.
…and just what is butamix? The internet tells me nothing.

I’ve been having a mild discomfort in between my right shoulder blade. I went to the doctor and got diagnosed with gall stones. I had blood work to check for infections and thankfully no infections were detected. I got referred to a specialist to discuss the issue. I scheduled my appointment for two weeks from today ( he didn’t have anything sooner).

Are their any home remedies to get rid of the stones that have actually worked for anyone? I want surgery to be my last resort.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

An ultra sound exam showed that my gallbladder contains several subcentimetre stones, and is thick walled (4mm) and tender. Also trace of free fluid in Morrison’s pouch.
IMPRESSION: Acute cholecystitis secondary to gall stones.

How severe and urgent is this condition and, is there any way other than surgery to solve the problem?

My boyfriend has been in and out of the ER all weekend with severe stomach pain. At first they thought it was kidney stones, then gall stones, now they believe he has a disease. I don’t know the scientific name (it ends in calculus) but more or less his gall bladder has a malformed artery so his gall bladder does not contract correctly. This is causing him to not be able to digest fats in the correct way. He is getting a test done on Monday where they inject him with a radio active dye and force his gall bladder to contract to see if it causes pain. This will show whether it is definitely his gall bladder and if he needs a liver transplant. The surgeon is pretty sure that he will need his gall bladder removed later this week. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or can tell us what to expect. Not really the surgery (I leave that to the doctors) but recovery time, pain levels, etc. The doctors said that its a pretty simple surgery and he would only be out of work for 2 weeks, but I’m worried about him and I know he’s scared and we’d feel a lot better if we heard it from someone who experienced it. Thank you!

my niece is about to have gall bladder removed due to gall stones. I have read some blogs indicating that the docs say all will be well and then patient discovers the gall bladder is no longer there to do its job (whatever that is) there is still pain and now chronic diarrhea. I’d appreciate any insight.

I have always had stomach problems, about a year ago i was told by my doctor that i have 4 peptic ulcers(idk if there gone or not). Even though i took prilosec for awhile my stomach still is very bothersome. I went back to the doctor and they found gall stones. recently i’ve been going to the restroom more frequently like random urges and my stomach hurts non stop. i’m currently taking nexium 40mg. My dad tells me it’s because of stress, but it’s impossible for me not to be stressed im just that type of person who is always stressed.

I had my gall bladder taken out because of gall stones. The doctors do the surgery then go golfing. To them its no big deal. What shall I expect down the road? Thanks for any diet advise. I do feel great now with no more cramps and issues.

I am 21 years old and have had medical issues in the past couple of years, mainly concerning my digestive tract.I cannot go to the bathroom without laxatives.I have tried water, higher liquid intake, muesli with honey, oatmeal, raw vegetables, soups, probiotics, prebiotics and about 30 grams of fiber powder a day, flaxseed oil supplements, castor oil, rose jam,you name it but it all fails to work as i have been laxative-dependant for about a year.I take senna supplements and senna tea along with stronger laxatives and i gradually came to increase the dosage and i know it could lead to some long term damage to my internal organs.I used to never struggle with constipation but a year ago my doctor said that my gallbladder is not producing enough bile and that’s the root of my problem.I also want to mention that about year and 7 months ago i had gall stones and had them removed.I was also diagnosed with chronic cholecystitis last summer when i was overseas and had done a lot of medical exams but i had no gall stones present. They also ran a blood picture and told me i have increased white cell count, high liver enzymes(given i do not consume alcohol),and was told i had an enlarged liver and spleen,it was seen on a CAT scan(i do not drink or take drugs and haven’t in the past and i have stopped taking acetaminophen on a daily basis since it can damage the liver),i was also told i have IBS when they performed endoscopy(over the summer last year) but i just recently(about two weeks ago) actually ended up in the emergency room and they told me they were concerned i might have a colon cancer and i need a colonoscopy done and i was debating should i do it since i saw a gastroenterologist overseas 8 months ago and was told i did not have stomach cancer because i don’t think it’s possible to develop a cancer condition in such a short period of time and i figured i would turn to someone competent in this field such as yourself.I also have unexplained anemia(i do have iron deficiency but was told my anemia is not due to it) and hemophilia runs in my family so i was wondering would it be possible for me to have hemolytic anemia,i also have kidney stones but my kidneys are functioning correctly,i am just mentioning all my conditiones and medical history because of intense connection between internal organs,i have also been told i have some pancreas and menstrual irregularities(i usually get my period about once a year or so,sometimes it’s once every two years but since i started taking contraceptives it’s been more regular, but i also told i have amenorrhea),i also was diagnosed with hiatal hernia, scoliosis and migraines.I also have anxiety that’s taken a control of my life, rosacea and chronic rash and hives. Each time they give me steroids but this makes me nervous and paranoid because it releases cortisol and since i have had anxiety for years my body has already released too much cortisol on a daily basis and i figured it would contribute to me feeling fatigue.I also have a peptic ulcer and i think that about sums it up.I have learned to deal with the majority of my symptoms and discomfort but what i am really interested in is how could i regulate my digestive tract again and prevent my body from further discomfort and complications.I also have had blood in my stools occasionaly but not every day for the past couple of months and actually was recently told that about 80 percent of our immune system is actually located in the gut so i figured that’s what i should focus on.I apologize for mentioning all those additional conditions and disorders,i just figured that all internal organs are connected.Thank you in advance for your attention and time.
