I took one single dose of amoxicillan and i got the horrible pressure, burning feeling like i gotta go right in my bladder. Its awful what causes this? Cranberry juice does nothing AZO makes my kidneys hurt when i got to the doctor they say no infection? Please help?
I had an ultrasound Tuesday and I got no results (from the doctor) back yet. The technician doing the ultrasound says that she didnt see kidney stones.

First off Ive been takeing a new multivitamin so my urine hasnt looked or smelled right to begin with, and Ive been exercising a bit more this past two weeks to loose a few pounds so I have been haveing lower back pain. So Im not sure if those are symptoms or results from the above.
But other actually symptoms are:
burning on urethra but not when urinating and very sore to the touch.
bladder feels full but not urinating enough
white stringy discharge
and grainey or dark sedimant in urine some look like sand and some are spots nothing big but noticable after I urinate and Im not meaning to really look lol.

Could I be passing small kidney stones or is this a UTI. Ive only had one Uti and I only new it because I was vomiting , had cold sweats, and was running a 103 degree fever. HELP!

I just wrote a question stating that i think my uterus is contracting and i asked if this is normal. now the pain in my bladder/uterus ares is getting more intense. tight and almost like a contraction. but now i have a sharp intense stabbing pain in my back right where my kidney is on the left side. so could the pain be a stone in the bladder, and not the uterus at all? could the pain in my back be a stone? now i’m scared to go to bed. last time i fell asleep thinking i had a stone, i woke up in such severe pain that i was unable to walk! i had to have my husband assist me into the car and i cried all the way to the hospital! what do you think?

When I was recently having an ultrasound scan done of my bladder and kidneys, the doctor doing it took a little while looking at my bladder, a little while on my left kidney, then a long time on my right kidney. After looking at the right kidney for some time, he paused and asked whether i have any family history of problems with the kidney, I replied that someone may have had stones at some point but i’m not entirely sure, and he just went quiet which made me think he’s not talking about stones, then he continued looking at the kidney some more.

What kinds of kidney diseases are associated with family history?

I have been feeling really dizzy each time I get up from sitting for more than 30 sec. hurts to urinate, pain in bladder and abdomen, urinating more often, and mild nausea. I have antibiotics from about two weeks ago when I did have a urinary tract infection. There the same symptoms I had last time. I’m still sick from what the doctor thinks is acid reflex disease, it’s not going away! :(
the medicine had more than a one week dose. Do you think I should ask the doctor … I’m going on vacation so I can go to the doctor in a week.

Hi.

I have a 2-3 mm stone that was diagnosed on Dec 1st in the ER when I had excrutiating pain…was told I passed the stone from my kidney. 1st stone ever, have no clue what is going on, scared and was set for surgery today! I postponed to next Tuesday.

I had a CT Scan at the ER on Dec 1st showing the stone in the left ureter. I had a CT-Scan/IVP on Dec 19th showing the stone at the entrance of the bladder. No swelling in my kindeys.

It has been over 5 weeks now since the ER. I have had 2 bouts of antibiotics for infection – blood in my urine (only seen by me as a little string in my strainer) but told blood in my urine with urinalysis. No cultures grew though.

I have tried the fluid/activity increase – lemon juice straight and mixed with oil – coke/asparagus – NOTHING is working. I can’t seem to pass this small stone and I am scared and over anxious aboout surgery and stent placement. The stone is slowly moving obviously, but hasnt passed since the CTScan-IVP

17 years old – male – bladder / urethral stinging & urine urgency.

Hi,

For the past few years i’ve been dealing with this issues. Recently, I was admitted to the ER at my local hospital where they took numerous blood & urine tests and cultures. They also did an MRI on abdominal and lower back area.

My symptoms consist of:
- Bladder overall stinging
- Urgency & frequency in urination
- Urethral burning (even when rubbed).
- The feeling of never feeling relieved.
- Short streams, hard to start a stream at times.

I AM NOT SEXUALLY ACTIVE. Still a virgin. Never have done drugs.

The hospital reported:
- NO infections appeared in blood OR urine.
- NO kidney stones ANYWHERE were detected.
- Prostate size appeared normal.
- Found small traces of blood in urine.

As a result they prescribed the following medications: Cippro & Pyridium

Well, I have long since run out of the pyridium and I just ran out of the antibiotic cippro and only slight relief has occured after taking these medications for a week.

Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks!

I heard that the natural bacteria in a man’s penis can get into a woman’s urethra during sex and travel up to her bladder, causing an infection. Also, I heard that peeing soon after sex will wash that bad bacteria away. Is this true?

It is there whether im going to the toilet or not, which hints that it isnt a UTI.
I cant seem to pinpoint the sensation, sometimes it feels like its at the tip, sometimes all along, sometimes at the base by the bladder.

It comes and goes, could it be the stone ready to come out? Or could it be a UTI caused by the stone?
Getting a bit worried, any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.

I have 5 large kidney stones and had to be admitted into the hospital to have surgery. They put in a stint from my kidney to my bladder because the stones were blocking the flow of fluid from my kidney. My OB doctor gave me 2 shots of steroids to mature my daughter’s lungs. My Urologist said that the baby is pressing on my kidney and is preventing the stones from passing and thinks its best to deliver at 36 weeks. We have talked it over with my OB and are shooting for an induction date around July 3-8th. I’m worried about the health of our daughter being born early. Has any one delivered this early and how is your child?

I’ve been having sever back pain in my right side, obviously near my spine, but I can feel it more inside my back, and a little more to the right than my spine.
It’s always hurting, constantly, and it spikes and worsens if I put my weight on my right leg, if I pivot on my right side, or if I just try to say, recline a chair all the way back, the force I have to put on my back hurts.
I know this pain isn’t normal, but I am having a difficult pregnancy, my uterus is tilted forward and I’ve had a few problems with kidney stones, I personally think that it might be a kidney stone stuck between my kidney and my bladder because the pain feels like it’s a stabbing, ripping pain, instead of a tingle or shock.

My doctor says it’s the baby on a nerve, if it is, shouldn’t the baby moving certain ways spike the pain? And if it IS in fact the baby on a nerve, does anyone know of a certain way I might be able to make her move off of it?

I’m not due for another two months but I can NOT wait out this pain. I just can’t. I can’t sit up straight because of it, but I can’t slouch to put the pressure of my spine because then my ribs push on my uterus, which hurts more because it’s tilted forward [very uncommon and unnaturally painful in itself].

If it’s a KIDNEY STONE, like I think it is, does anyone know of any remedies that may help it dissolve or break down, maybe even break all together so that I can just pass it, or at least get it small enough to move so it’s not so painful?

It’s been this same pain since the last time I went to the hospital for a kidney stone, which unbroken, would have measured almost a half a centimeter across. [Yes, they're that bad]
My doctor didn’t take into account my issues with kidney stones, whereas my specialist did, and he’s been having me drink pure lemon juice.
Since then it’s helped, but no where near enough, all it did was make it so I wasn’t bed ridden anymore.

My doctors don’t want me drinking too much water and flushing my kidneys. My body tensing from the pain from passing the last one almost put me into labor. Which is why I’m looking to just break it down best I can if at all possible.
And Tylenol doesn’t help at ALL.
The only thing that’s help was a prescription of lortabs, that I stopped taking after a few days because I don’t want to harm my baby.

I have a 5mm stone stuck in my ureter right above my bladder. Its been there for at least 3 months. I am trying flomax for seven days to see if it passes and will be scheduled for surgery if it doesnt. The surgery will be at least a month away because they are very backed up. I have tried to flush it out by increasing my fluid intake and it hasnt worked. Any ideas for me to try? I am miserable.. Also, has anyone had a stone removed surgically? What was the recovery like? Thanks in advance.

Currently on antibiotics for the next 6 or so days and have returned from a short sojourn in hospital due to the infection. I would like to cosy up to my wife, but am worried that sex may cause a rerun of the infection, which, by the way, I would not wish on my worst enemy.
The doc says the infection is due to an "irretable bladder" which reacts to stress and was not caused by my prostate or bad hygiene.
Sorry, "irritable"

3 weeks ago I went to ER, they said I had a 1 mm kidney stone. 8 days later I went back with same symptoms. Extreme pain in testicles, bladder area and back. They said the first dr. was wrong and there was not a kidney stone. He said I had a large amount of calcium oxalate get to the urologist. SO I went to GP to get a referral, they got the reports from ER, the GP said that the radiologist noted that I had an enlarged prostate with calcification. Bow three weeks later still a lot of pain in testicles bladder area and back. They made a very quick referral, I went to GP today my appt. is tomorrow. They did not tell me any more than this but the sense of urgency has me concerned. What do I expect and what are the possibilities of cancer. I turn 40 Thursday. I am also diabetic.

I’ve had a 6mm kidney stone for about two weeks, it moved to my bladder a little over a week ago.

A few days ago it was trying to pass, but i’m not sure if it couldn’t because of size or lack of urine amount.

Would this be causing the tip of my penis to burn after urinating?

Thanks!

in June, the doctors thought i had a UTI because every time i would wipe after peeing, there would be squiggles of blood on the toilet paper, but i had no pain or any other symptoms. they put me on antibiotics untill the lab results came back. well, they came back negative for a UTI, and i wasn’t seeing any blood anymore. exactly two weeks later, on the 4th of July, my blood was bright red in the morning. it looked like watery blood. the color weakened through the day, turning to an orange color. i went back to the doctors, and still no positive results for UTI, so they sent me to get an ultrasound on my bladder and kidneys. they did not see any stones, but they noticed my left kidney is swollen and said that if i dont have more symptoms, to just wait until after i deliver to see if it just goes back to normal.

anyone else have anything like this?

I had severe kidney pain that started last monday. i went to the er and they told me that i had passed a stone but that i had a cyst on that kidney. when i went to the urologist they told me it was not a cyst that it was where my kidney had been swolllen trying to push the stone out. since then it has slowly been dropping. it is now in my bladder. but i am sick of being in pain. i also have a uti. should i seek a second opinion? is it possible that my stone is stuck in my bladder. i cant continue to suffer this much pain. my doc just keeps telling me that it will pass, it will pass, but i heard that it should not take more than 2-3 days to pass it completely. I asked my doctor to blast it, but as usual he said it will pass on its own.

I was in the ER about 72 hours ago, and they said I had a 3mm kidney stone that was just about in my bladder, as well as a UTI. They gave me a shot of Torodol for the pain, and Bactrim. When I woke up later that morning (about 9) I was able to urinate (which I hadn’t done much of for a week). The pain/spasms in my bladder and back were also improved. Now, 3 days later, I feel 90% better – but no stone in my strainer. I assumed the pain lessened because the stone went into my bladder, but will there be more pain when passing this stone? Or will I be okay from here on out? How long does it take to pass?

I had a 13mm kidney stone and had lithotripsy yesterday to break it up. The doctor decided to put a stent in, and said I should have it in for 4 weeks. I’m in extreme pain and discomfort, and it isn’t even my kidney that’s hurting. It’s the bladder/stent. Pain killers aren’t working on my pain. Everybody at the surgery center was like "WOW!!" when my doctor said I had to have it for 4 weeks. Is that normal? I had the impression that you only had it for a week at most. I don’t think I’m going to be able to stand it too much longer, especially since I have to go to school and am having trouble walking. I’d really like to know when the earliest possible time I could get my stent out would be.
