I went to my local ER the other night bcause I was having really terrible back pain and felt like my whole body was going to explode when I peed. I thought for sure it was a kidney stone. While I was there they did a cat scan and told me it was a stone and a kidney infection. I was given some antibiotics and pain meds then told to see my regular doctor as soon as possible. So I went to my family dr the next day and she told me that a kidney stone was not the only thing they saw on the CT. It also says in the report that the right ovary has several large cycts. My dr told me to see my gyno within a week, and now I can’t get an appiontment that soon. I have noticed before they told me about the cysts that I have pain during and after sex, a lower backache all the time, and I constantly feel like I have a bladder infection…that really awful buring sensation. Are those symptoms coming from these cysts? What should I expect when I do get to see my gyno?

Im 27 years old, single, not married and Im suffering an on/off lower abdominal pain together with back pain and fever. And there’s a vaginal discharge as well, sometimes odorless and most of the time it has very foul smell. The discharge appearance looks kind like pus, but it’s not. Somewhat transparent/milky, pale yellow, blood stain at time( not too much, just a few streaks), the discharge sometimes sticky & watery, they have the ‘water’ and ‘mucus’ part as well. ( I had to use tissue which I fold in many layer instead of using pad/pantyliners because there’s a lot of discharge which is came out frequently and I have to change it once in an 1 or 2 hours ). The cramp which Im having is similar like period cramp, but it goes on/off. No itching vulva/vagina, and no burning sensation when I urinate( except that ‘unsatisfied’ feeling after Im done. I feel like i still want to pee, but nothing will come out. And FYI, I can’t hold my urine longer like before. When the urge to pee come, I have to go to the toilet as soon as possible or I will pee in pants. I don’t know why it happened like this.

The last intercourse I had was 3 months back, only once or twice. Even after having sex with the last man, nothing strange happened after that.

I had this kind of sickness 3 years back. I was bleeding frequently (not too much like period blood, but there’s a blood discharge, sometimes red and brown ). I cant move at all even to turn around my body while sleeping, the lower abdominal pain was very severe. I became too weak and pale because I bleed non stop for more than a months. 3-4 hospitals which I visited told me different results for that illness. Such as appendicitis, gastrontritis, kidney stone, UTI, STD disease (which is funny because I never had sex with anyone that time ). One of the doctor even wanted to remove my appendix. Luckily I didnt proceed coz I dont have enough money. So I tried traditional/alternative medicine, and it really works!

I cant even sit in the car or bus that ‘bumping too hard on the road’ because I feel pain whenever there’s a pressure to my stomach. Now im depending to Ibuprofen very often to ease my pain

Please tell me what is wrong with me? Is this what you call endometritis? Or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease? Or apendicitis? Or kidney stone? Should I do Pap Smear or any lab test for this? I hope anyone can give me advice on this issue. Really appreciate your help.

P/S : I had my menstrual at age 9.
Yea, Im thinking the same too. Probably bcoz I drank too much coffee and other drinks. Lack of plain water actually…

Still, Im kind of scared. I afraid to go for further check up and being told by the doctor they find out something wrong with my womb, ovaries, etc….

Crysti: So, what you are saying is that the cysts are what causes you to have a period…(wrong.) If I have several of them, then they will pop them and tell me how to not get them again…which in your describtion would mean I won’t ever be getting a period again, right? Let me educate you on a period. Periods come from the lining of your uterus shedding itself if the egg your ovary produces does not get fertilized with sperm and implanted into that lining. But, at any rate thank you for trying.

Lived here over four years. My wife and I are 62 and expect some physical problems, but were never seriously ill or had any serious problems before moving in. House is old, built 1892. Divided into 2 separate apartments at some point, probably the 70s. No lead paint or anything like that. I Live upstairs, full 2 bedroom apt. Not bad, clean. Family downstairs has been moved in a little before we did. Here’s the problem. Everyone down there has become ill. Different things, serious back and joint problems with husband, psychotic episodes with wife. It’s been one thing after another. They’re young, 40, and nice people. The same type of stuff started occurring with wife and I two years ago. High blood pressure (230/120) for me when I finally checked it, high cholesterol. Several back pain. My wife started losing her vision and we found she had cataracts. Did the surgery and though her vision is good left eye still bothers her. She woke up one morning two years ago with sever pain in the shoulder. They did everything to her for months and nothing was found. She’s never been overweight and has never used sugar or drank soft drinks. Eats a real healthy diet, but was diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol 2 weeks ago. The month before that I had to take her to emergency room for high heart beat (191) They fixed it with a special shot that re-regulates the heart. I developed kidney stones over the last several months, and three weeks ago woke up with a swollen knee. It’s super painful and I can hardly walk, but I absolutely did not injure it. It was just there in the morning just as my wifes shoulder. Here’s the point. A few months after we moved in I found myself looking at the stairway that leads down to the front door and thinking of a little girl. It sounds crazy but it seemed I could see or at least clearly imagine her. She’s about eleven and sits at the bottom of the stairs. I think she does come up here but only at night. She didn’t frighten me and until all this illness, that just keeps coming, I got no bad feelings. I mentioned to my neighbor and he said he was positive this place was haunted. Until last week I took none of it very seriously, however, my brother in law, who is a minister and who I haven’t seen in ten years visited. He took one step in the door and looked at me and said, "Do you know this place is haunted?" He is a very honest and down to earth man. I answered I did and we didn’t discuss beyond me saying I didn’t feel it was anything bad. Strangely the woman who lived here before us died shortly after moving, as did the woman who lived downstairs before the current neighbors moved in. One other thing that was odd was my best friend visited one day two years ago. We had coffee and at some point he said he wasn’t feeling well. He ended up in the hospital that night with a heartbeat of over two hundred and the same symptoms my wife subsequently suffered. My question is can places be bad? Has anyone ever heard of something like this associated with a house, or is this just my imagination from all these problems. I would appreciate any sincere comments. Thanks
Thanks to everyone for the thoughtful answers. It seems more and more obvious that there is little to lose in moving from here and possibly much to gain. Thank you again.

I’ve been having sever back pain in my right side, obviously near my spine, but I can feel it more inside my back, and a little more to the right than my spine.
It’s always hurting, constantly, and it spikes and worsens if I put my weight on my right leg, if I pivot on my right side, or if I just try to say, recline a chair all the way back, the force I have to put on my back hurts.
I know this pain isn’t normal, but I am having a difficult pregnancy, my uterus is tilted forward and I’ve had a few problems with kidney stones, I personally think that it might be a kidney stone stuck between my kidney and my bladder because the pain feels like it’s a stabbing, ripping pain, instead of a tingle or shock.

My doctor says it’s the baby on a nerve, if it is, shouldn’t the baby moving certain ways spike the pain? And if it IS in fact the baby on a nerve, does anyone know of a certain way I might be able to make her move off of it?

I’m not due for another two months but I can NOT wait out this pain. I just can’t. I can’t sit up straight because of it, but I can’t slouch to put the pressure of my spine because then my ribs push on my uterus, which hurts more because it’s tilted forward [very uncommon and unnaturally painful in itself].

If it’s a KIDNEY STONE, like I think it is, does anyone know of any remedies that may help it dissolve or break down, maybe even break all together so that I can just pass it, or at least get it small enough to move so it’s not so painful?

It’s been this same pain since the last time I went to the hospital for a kidney stone, which unbroken, would have measured almost a half a centimeter across. [Yes, they're that bad]
My doctor didn’t take into account my issues with kidney stones, whereas my specialist did, and he’s been having me drink pure lemon juice.
Since then it’s helped, but no where near enough, all it did was make it so I wasn’t bed ridden anymore.

My doctors don’t want me drinking too much water and flushing my kidneys. My body tensing from the pain from passing the last one almost put me into labor. Which is why I’m looking to just break it down best I can if at all possible.
And Tylenol doesn’t help at ALL.
The only thing that’s help was a prescription of lortabs, that I stopped taking after a few days because I don’t want to harm my baby.

about a month ago i started having severe right back pain i later that day passed a kidney stone.recently i started having sever pain again but passed no stone. i got an mri done and found that i had multiple kidney stones, it showed that none of them were blocking anything. im still having severe pain and still nothing. everything ive read says it shouldnt be hurting if the stones arent blocking or moving on down. my question i guess is, does anyone know why i am having pain if they arent moving or has anyone had the same experience? thanks

I’m a 16 year old female.
Friday of last week, I started having the constant urge to urinate. And, when I did it was barely anything at all. When I woke up on Saturday, my back was in so much pain. So, I went to the store and bought Azo thinking it was a Urinary Tract infection.

There’s was blood in my urine, and I even urinated STRAIGHT blood for about a day.
My back pain kept becoming worse (specifically on the right side ) along with nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, fever, chills, fatigue, a bloated, sick queasy feeling. Just all round ill feeling.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday, the gave me a prescription to take for 10 days thinking it was a UTI, as I did. They called a few days later, saying it wasn’t. I have to go back and give a urine specimen after I finish my meds.

Please note:
All of my symptoms are now gone. I feel completely normal, besides being constipated.

Could this have been Kidney Stones?

For the past week or so, I have been experiencing a bit more back pain than usual, but mostly, a grabbing pain in my right kidney. Now I have had kidney stones twice in my life and usually back pain is an indicator, but the difference is that, this time, I have had a grabbing pain in my right kidney that’s off and on, but seems to be getting increasingly worse, so I tend to doubt that it’s stones. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks!!

I went to the ER with bad back pain and lower abdominal pain. They did a CT scan and found a couple of kidney stones and multiple cysts on both kidneys. The ER Doc and Radiologist both thought it was polycystic kidney disease, but I don’t have an appointment with the Urologist for another month and a half. Does anyone know of any guidelines I should follow in the meantime?

i have been diagnosed with a kidney stone last night about 5mm in teh ureter close to the kidney. i no longer have any back pain or flank pain. my bladder however feels like its full as can be and i feel like i have to pee constantly. dose this mean the stone is near the bladder and will be coming out soon? or can the stone still give me this feeling even being close to the kidney still?

Okay. So on 12-25-08 (Yes Christmas) I produced my first Kidney stone at 3:00 a.m. I passed it a month later after three surgerys for stents because of kidney failure. Ever since then I have been getting them constantly. I don’t seem to have the back pain anymore but then again I’m always on medication for the pain. But I can’t seem to stop passing them or producing them. My Urologist has no clue why I am producing these because I am on a healthy diet (what he suggested me to eat), I avoid products with sodium in it and I keep really hydrated (like 9-10 bottle of water a day). So I’m pretty concerned about this because it’s really not that plesant peeing out stones constantly. Is anyone else having these problems or am I the only one out there??
Thanks for your time..

(Oh yeah.. I’m only 17)

My symptoms started right after new years, I am always tired, muscle&joint pain, headache, mild fever, chills, diarrhea and constipations (switches back and forth), right abdominal pain right under my rib cage and mild back pain on my right side.I also dont feel like eating and I have lost a lot of weight, say 5-10lbs.

About a month ago, I got my tongue pierced, I have since taken it out but it was done at a cheap place and the lady didnt sanitize. My additional concerns include, unprtected sex. my bf didnt use a condom but he did not bust in me.

I have had my period but it was a darker color and lighter than usual.I didnt have a heavy flow. It lasted 3-4 days. I have taken preg test and it has come out negative twice.

I also have been diagnosed with kidney stones and was on painkillers about a month ago.

I am scared to go to the doctor because my parents think im a virgin. im scared theyll find out.
yeah but my parents COME IN WITH ME to the doctor and I have no money so they are paying for it.

I’m concerned with a few things. I have had kidney stones, UTI’s, and I currently have a gallstone (too large to pass through the duct). However I am concerned that it is something more complicated. I am not asking fora diagnosis but I was wondering what it could be. I’ve been experiencing localized discomfort in my abdominal region. My symptoms include:
-Side pain both left and right
-Back pain, which i think is because of my gallstone
-my dr also told me my urine had enzymes in it, along with some blood.
-I randomly get UTI’s roughly every 3 months
-Joint pain
-occasional intense short term headaches
- lower Abdominal pain (I believe appendix area), tender to the touch
- Crampy/stiff sensations on sides and upper front abdominal region.
-extreme fatigue
-frequent fever accompanied by my skin flushed.
-irregular periods

also- I had a ultrasound (that’s how they found my gallstone), and my dr said my liver looked "okay". I am 21, and rarely drink at all…any help?

please don’t respond with "go see dr." i already know that, and i have a appointment. i just want to know what i should bring up to him during my visit.

I went to the hospital on sunday because i had sudden cramps in my stomach, side and groin. Although the doctor wasnt sure if it was because i may have had a kidney stone or if the problem lay with one of my ovarys, he gave me some pain relief and made me do a urine test which iam still waiting results for.

Anyways im still getting pain, especially in my back. Pain which is just as bad as the pain i initially had. I was just wondering if the stones should have passed already or if maybe i have a kidney infection?

thanks

I had kidney stones and even had some stuck in my urthera. I had complications and treated a very severe infection. After a long and tiring ride on that train, I’ve been feeling normal for almost 2 weeks now. This evening I started noticing my back hurts as if I have more stones coming, but this time my bladder itself is in so much pain, as if someone is sitting on my bladder. It almost feels like a cramp. Does this sound like more complications due to the stones? The back pain is becoming unmanagable now that it’s accompanied by severe bladder pain. Does this sound like a complication of kidney stones?

First, some back pain. Immediately achiness all over like you’re coming down with the flu. Suddenly, chills turns into violent shaking then raging fever. Next, horrible nausea and generalized back pain – still delirious, have trouble walking. Now, stabbing pain (with a heart beat) on the area over the left kidney. Fever down but still delirious. No hearing in the left ear.

My mother is ill right now. At about 6 we went out to dinner to the local hotspot for Greek food, and each of us ordered our usual (both the same thing: σπανάκιπίτα for an appetizer and then shared an order of Σουβλάκι and an order of μουσακάς (spanakopita, souvlaki, and moussaka). At about 7 she had some pain in her back and wasn’t feeling so great (she had been having moderate back pain for a few days before, on and off), and at 7:30 she got a warm bath. At about 8:00 she got out of the tub and was suddenly struck with excruciating pain, and at that moment my aunt called (who is conveniently a nurse). My mom told me to tell my aunt to call her on MY cell phone (because she didn’t have hers available at the moment, so I gave her mine) and they talked, and my aunt came over to check my mom out. She said that it was NOT appendicitis (she had that out ages ago), but could be pancreatitis, food poisoning, or a small hernia causing the pain. We ruled out food poisoning because we had the exact same thing and shared 2 of the dishes, and I feel perfectly fine (other than being nervous as hell), so that leaves POSSIBLE pancreatitis or a small hernia, or something else. I called my dad (he works nights and won’t be home until 5 AM, it’s 11:30 PM now) and told him what was going on and called my sister (who goes to college 400 miles away), and both suggested kidney stones. We didn’t think about this. My mom’s had them before and gets them every 10-15 years, and the last time she had them she had the exact same symptoms, so it’s very plausible that it could be kidney stones. I talked to my mom and urged her to go to the hospital (I’m 17, I have had my full driver’s license, I can take her), but she has no desire to go to the clinic tonight. Then I told her that if she’s still feeling like crap in the morning, I don’t care if she wants to go to the doctor or not, I’m going to take her to the clinic and get her checked out, and my dad said the same thing–when he gets home from work she’s going with him whether he wants to or not.

What could this be? Are these signs of possible kidney stones, or could it be something much much worse?
