right, im 15 but i have kidney disease which causes kidney stones.

i recently woke up with bright red urineand pain when i wee so went to the doctors and sent a sample off, in the meantime they gave me antibiotics, which (for the moment) have cleared my symptoms,, although i still have some pain.

other symptoms that i still have are tiredness, generallyy feeling under the weather, i have chronic pain anyway but the pain seems to have gotten worse.

in the past iv had experiences with antibiotcs stopping the symptoms for as long as im on them and then the symptoms coming back as soon as im off them.

do you think this is an infection or a kidney stone ?

what shall i do ?
lol, i do kno what kidney stones are, i have experienced them 4 times..

About a month ago I was having sharp pains in my kidneys, the right one mostly, and frequent urination. I went to the doctor and they said I had a uti and gave me bactrim and it cleared up. As soon as I was done with the antibiotics the symptoms came back. I lived with it for another week or so, then the kidney pain became severe. I went to the er where they perfomed blood and urine tests, a doctor examined me and they also gave me a CT scan and could find nothing wrong. They said I had no stones or infection, offered me painkillers, which I declined, and sent me home. I have been to two doctors, urgent care, and the ER and I am really at a loss of where to turn next. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? The symptoms are not as severe as they once were, but still are there, also I have been feeling a great amount of fatigue. I am on 3 medications… Zoloft, klonopin (only as needed I rarely take it) those are for anxiety. And I was on Adipex, but stopped taking it two days ago because it seems that all of this started a few weeks after I began taking it and I don’t like how it makes me feel. Are any of these meds related to kidney problems that anyone knows of? All of the doctors I saw were aware of the meds I am on and didn’t say anything, but I am running out of places to turn. Help Please!!!

So I went to my family dr the next day and she told me that a kidney stone was not the only thing they saw on the CT. It also says in the report that the right ovary has several large cycts. My dr told me to see my gyno within a week, and now I can’t get an appiontment that soon. I have noticed before they told me about the cysts that I have pain during and after sex, a lower backache all the time, and I constantly feel like I have a bladder infection…that really awful buring sensation. Are those symptoms coming from these cysts? What should I expect when I do get to see my gyno?

I went to the doctor because I was feeling sick to my stomach and shaky and dizzy and I hadn’t eaten in 3 days. She took my blood and told me I had a UTI. From what I read on line it seems more like I have a kidney infection. She prescribed me antibiotics and they are not helping. What should I do?? Thanks.

About three weeks ago I had a very sharp and sudden pain in my back on the right side. It continued, infrequently for the next couple of days. I also began to experience symptoms of a bladder infection so I went to the doctor and told them all of my symptoms and they tested my urine and said I had a bladder infectoin and gave me Bactrim to take for 5 days. They said nothing about my kidneys. I finished my antibiotics yesterday and was feeling okay. Today I have been getting sharp pains in my back again, I have no fever, and no UTI symptoms, so I don’t think its an infection, could it be a stone? If so should I go to the ER or wait for a doctor’s appt?

I was in the ER twice in the last week, first they diagnosed me with a kidney infection and put me on antibiotics… that did NOTHING and I was in so much pain in my back and side that I wanted to fall over and die… The second time I went back they diagnosed me with pelvic inflammatory disease, the pain has gone away but I still have some symptoms that haven’t. AND I don’t think have anything do to with PID:

Itching beyond belife (bug bite like things all over me)
Stop and go peeing, cloudy urine, takes me about 10 minutes to start peeing.
I am severely bloated
And the classic sign, I have this metal taste in my mouth, (also i kinda smell metal sometimes I don’t know if that is a normal part)

They did do an ultra sound of my kidneys and they said no stones and no swelling… could I still have something wrong? Because I don’t think all these things go with PID

Also I am cold all the time, and I am dizzy!

Crysti: So, what you are saying is that the cysts are what causes you to have a period…(wrong.) If I have several of them, then they will pop them and tell me how to not get them again…which in your describtion would mean I won’t ever be getting a period again, right? Let me educate you on a period. Periods come from the lining of your uterus shedding itself if the egg your ovary produces does not get fertilized with sperm and implanted into that lining. But, at any rate thank you for trying.

I have a VERY bad UTI/kidney infection. I started a high powered antibiotic today and was wondering how long it’s going to take to start feeling better? I’m drinking plenty of a water and cranberry juice and sitting on my butt.

I swear this hurts worse than labor and the kidney stone I had a few years back COMBINED. All I can do is sit back and cry and let the Tylenol take the edge off it. I feel like I’m dying I swear!

I was showing all the symptoms of having a UTI for the past 4 days but I didn’t realize it. It wasn’t until I woke up with a fever of 102 this morning and was doubled over in pain that I went to get checked out and realized it was a UTI. I’m almost 38 weeks pregnant so I thought a lot of my symptoms were just from the being pregnant (peeing more often, pelvic pressure/pain, pain in my abdomen ect.) mixed with being what I thought was a flu like bug.

I can barely type right now I’m in soo much pain but I need to do something to keep my mind off it. If you have any experience with a UTI while please tell me. I need to know there is light at the end of this stupid tunnel. Are my antibiotics going to start working soon or am I going to feel like this for the next few days?

Sorry for being such a big baby. Maybe it’s just cause I’m soo pregnant but it makes me feel better to type all this till my hubby can get back to our house with more cranberry juice and bottled water.
Just to add the baby is doing fine. She’s a tough little cookie.

I have been feeling really dizzy each time I get up from sitting for more than 30 sec. hurts to urinate, pain in bladder and abdomen, urinating more often, and mild nausea. I have antibiotics from about two weeks ago when I did have a urinary tract infection. There the same symptoms I had last time. I’m still sick from what the doctor thinks is acid reflex disease, it’s not going away!
the medicine had more than a one week dose. Do you think I should ask the doctor … I’m going on vacation so I can go to the doctor in a week.

Hi.

I have a 2-3 mm stone that was diagnosed on Dec 1st in the ER when I had excrutiating pain…was told I passed the stone from my kidney. 1st stone ever, have no clue what is going on, scared and was set for surgery today! I postponed to next Tuesday.

I had a CT Scan at the ER on Dec 1st showing the stone in the left ureter. I had a CT-Scan/IVP on Dec 19th showing the stone at the entrance of the bladder. No swelling in my kindeys.

It has been over 5 weeks now since the ER. I have had 2 bouts of antibiotics for infection – blood in my urine (only seen by me as a little string in my strainer) but told blood in my urine with urinalysis. No cultures grew though.

I have tried the fluid/activity increase – lemon juice straight and mixed with oil – coke/asparagus – NOTHING is working. I can’t seem to pass this small stone and I am scared and over anxious aboout surgery and stent placement. The stone is slowly moving obviously, but hasnt passed since the CTScan-IVP

I am 24yrs and during or around my monthly period I get a kidney infection. This has been the case for at least 6months. 4weeks ago i was admitted to hospital and was there for 3 days being treated for suspected kidney stones. Havent had CT scan yet although they did find an echo on my left kidney and i had all the symptoms of kidney infection, as well as testing positive for all kinds of bacteria in my urine..I havent passed any stones as yet.
I started my period again yesterday and woke up this morning with the start of another infection… have been to see my gp who is just contradicting what the hospital have said and didnt prescribe me with any antibiotics so looks like im going to be back in a&e tomorrow when it progresses! no one can explain why the infection kick starts on or around my period and i would just like some other suggestions??!!

My mom has been having pains under her stomach area and it moves/rotates to the left, then right, and sometimes even to the back. She can not describe the pain, but it has been there for a while, about a month or so.

She went to the hospital 2 weeks ago and they diagnosed it as Urinary Tract Infection and gave her antibiotics. She finished the antibiotics, but still had the pain. People even told her to drink cranberry juice, but still no help. She went to the doctor and he diagnosed it as Kidney Stones, and again, gave her more antibiotics, and same story, finished the pills, but no help. She has another appt in 2 days, but the pain is so unbearable she can’t even bear to walk or sleep.

So has anyone had any of those symptoms? Do you know what this is? please help, any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Im 31 weeks pregnant and have been to the doc a couple times about a month ago for severe upper back pain, they did a sonogram and found nothing. Im tired of people telling me it’s just because I’m pregnant. I finally found out it was most likely due to my gall bladder and my diet. But now I’m having pains right where my kidneys are. And urgency to urinate, and pain and trouble doing it when I do so the doc gave me some antibiotics. Now I’m passing kidney stones and still having kidney and abdominal pains. Should I call and tell my doc i’m passing kidney stones? I mean that means the pains about over right? and theres nothing they can do? I don’t want to sound like a big baby calling and complaining about more back pain. But its quite uncomfortable and painful.

Currently on antibiotics for the next 6 or so days and have returned from a short sojourn in hospital due to the infection. I would like to cosy up to my wife, but am worried that sex may cause a rerun of the infection, which, by the way, I would not wish on my worst enemy.
The doc says the infection is due to an "irretable bladder" which reacts to stress and was not caused by my prostate or bad hygiene.

my doctor said i may have them . they did an ultrasound of my kidneys and didnt find anything. but he said he is not 100% certain there are no stones.they said i do have a uti. this is my 3rd one since i have been pregnant. either that or its still the same one that hasnt completely cleared… can that cause pains similar to kidney stones?? i have been havin horrible lower back pain.. left side. seems to come and go every other day.. and now today my left leg seems to have this weird cramping/numbing pain down the back of my thigh! what is that!!??
i go back to the doc on monday. i was just there on thursday.. they sent me to the hospital and i stayed there overnight…. got out friday afternoon….
they gave me antibiotics… thats all
i started takin the meds on saturday and it seems the symptoms i have been havin have gotten worse … not better… i know it can take a couple days for them to work.. but sheesh!!

I had surgery on my left kidney about 9 years ago and it no longer functions. I started having pain in it a few days ago. It is a pretty severe pain and has even spread to my lower abdomen a little. I went to my doctor who put me on antibiotics. He said he is not sure what it is but it could be a kidney stone or infection. I seem to be prone to UTIs and kidney infections. Today I think I saw blood in my stool for the first time. I was wondering if that is related to what is going on with my kidney. Also, I had a renal ultrasound today and the tech was having a hard time finding my left kidney. She said she wasn’t sure what she was looking at and thought something might be in front blocking it. I’ve had ultrasounds before and they’ve never had this problem.
I also have blood in my urine.

when you have a urinary tract infection you pee frequently and only a little but of urine comes out. i have a urinary tract infection and the dcotor gave me a 3 day prescription of antibiotics for it. do i drink more water even though im peeing frequently anyway? anyone else who went through this, plz empathize. thanks.

in June, the doctors thought i had a UTI because every time i would wipe after peeing, there would be squiggles of blood on the toilet paper, but i had no pain or any other symptoms. they put me on antibiotics untill the lab results came back. well, they came back negative for a UTI, and i wasn’t seeing any blood anymore. exactly two weeks later, on the 4th of July, my blood was bright red in the morning. it looked like watery blood. the color weakened through the day, turning to an orange color. i went back to the doctors, and still no positive results for UTI, so they sent me to get an ultrasound on my bladder and kidneys. they did not see any stones, but they noticed my left kidney is swollen and said that if i dont have more symptoms, to just wait until after i deliver to see if it just goes back to normal.

anyone else have anything like this?

I’ve been have dull/aching pain on my right side beside my pelvis. Sometimes I get a sharp pain. I also have pain in my lower back. I went to the clinic yesterday and the doctor said it could be my appendix or an ovarian cyst. He told me to go to the emergency so I went.
The ER doctor said that I have a kidney infection and a urinary tract infection. But my blood tests are normal and I have no pain when peeing. Is a kidney/UTI still possible? I’ve been taking antibiotics for 2 days and the pain is still there. Also, I have no fever.
I asked the ER doc if it could be an ovarian cyst because the doctor at the clinic said that’s what it could be. The ER doc said yes he thinks that’s what it is, but I don’t think he was listening to my question at the time. Plus, I didn’t know what an ovarian cyst was so I went home with just some antibiotics.
What should I do now? And what could it be? Please help, I am scared!

Does anyone out there with chronic prostatitis ever experience a discomfort or prickly feeling inside the penis? I will occasionally experience a "prickly" feeling inside the penis, closer to the tip than the base, There’s no additional discomfort during urination, but it’s mild to fairly uncomfortable at different times. The tip of the penis is also sometimes very sensitive, but I gather this is more common. These symptoms seem to go away when I’m taking antibiotics (doxycycline, cipro, or zithromax), but they usually come back after a while. I know it’s not STD related or anything, but it’s an unusual phenomenon. Maybe a urinary tract problem related to the prostatitis, or maybe something like a small kidney stone?? Anybody?

i always pee after sex
my partner always uses condoms
i wash down there after sex with a mild cleanser
i wipe from front to back
but i still always get uti
doctors have already examined me if theres something wrong internally but they couldnt find anything wrong ie no kidney stones etc
i have also already been on a 2 week course of antibiotics
i also drink 1000mg cranberry tablets everyday and try to drink as much water as possible
but nothing works i still get uti and seems like the only way to cure it and avoid uti is antibiotics.
does anyone else know anything to avoid getting uti especially after sex? and does anyone else feel like their doctors are not helping them as much as they should with recurrent uti and instead they just prescribe you antibiotics and within 5minutes your out of the doctors office, after spending an hour in the waiting room?

I have had a Urinary Tract Infection for a few days now. I am on antibiotics and I am about halfway through my treatment and I am wondering if it would make my condition worsen or draw out my recovery time if I were to smoke marijuana…any information would be greatly appreciated
