I went to the dr, because i thought i had a bladder infection or uti..blood work and ua came back neg for infections and std (not sexually active, just putting that out there lol) I have a lot of pain in my right side, maybe an inch or two lower than my rib (its the floating rib, not the ribcage) and i also feel pain in my back, its been pretty consistent pain for about a week, it feels like a stabbing pain, or almost like a bad cramp from running. i also feel it in my back on my right side., about even where it hurts in the front. When the dr pushed on my abdomen, it HURT BAD, she said i didnt have any infections and kind of just blew it off. Im going to get a second opinion on Monday. Could it be a kidney stone? or what? I have been drinking a lot of water lately (2-3 liters a day), ive also been taking azo twice a day for about a week now too, and it hasnt helped. If it is a kidney stone, would it just hang out for a while or flush itself out? Could it even be a kidney stone? Or a misdiagnosed UTI? Kind of confused here, thanks in advance guys

3 mm stone Dx 2 months ago when abdominal CT was done for vomiting. Last night started with Lt flank pain, nausea, vomiting and temp of 101. Thought it was the flu but checked again the results of the CT and sure enough it was on the Lt side. Saw the Dr today for multiple reasons and had + blood in the urine but no pain at that time. I just caught the Dr prior to 5P and she is ordering antibiotics. I also have severe abdominal bloated feeling and 7/10 pain when palpated flank or abdomen. Temp now 100.6. Here I am an ICU nurse asking if I should go to the hospital but this is my first kidney stone. Of course I have to work 2 -12 hour night shifts this weekend to top it off.
Anyone with remedies when the SEVERE pain comes that you can’t even hold still??? Karen

Almost every time I have an empty stomach, it feel like I get this stabbing pain throughout my whole abdomen area. Usually when I eat it goes away shortly after, but right now it isn’t. When it happens, I don’t want to stand up completely straight because it makes me uncomfortable, so I usually am bending over a little, which makes me look like an idiot. My sister was messing with me and said I probably have kidney stones, and I got freaked and went on WebMd.com and used the symptom checker. Once I checked the box about "stabbing pain" a box popped up that I should seek medical attention. Any idea what it could possibly be?

By the way, I am 13 going on 14 this month…. so yeahh…
30 minutes later and it still hurts

I know this is the wrong catergory, but "pregnancy" has been taken over by too many trolls and silly teens……

So I’m 18 weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy) and I’m having this pain deep in my abdomen on the right side.
At first I thought it was because I had waited too long to use the bathroom…because I wanted to sleep just one more hour!
But usually when that happens it goes away by mid-day.

If I’m resting and layin go on my left side it feels fine, no pain at all. But when I’m standing the pain starts, not too bad-I’d say a 3. The worst is when I lift my right leg to get into the car. Wow its bad then! And it almost feels like I can feel something (baby, organ?) drop down slightly.

I have an appt with my OB on monday, and hes super busy, so I know if he wants to see me itll mean an entire day in the waiting room. I’d like to aviod that since I have a toddler!

My other worry is that my husband was just diagnosed with either a prostate infection or epididymits…either way his dr put him on broad spectrum antibiotics and said they would knock out either infection. We were intimate the night before he started having symptoms, but his dr didnt say anything about being concerned about my health. However when I googled epididymitis, and the internet says that typically it is a complication of an STD-which neither of us have, we were both tested.

Any ideas? My MIL suggested kidney stones, but I’ve never had them so I dont know what that would feel like…..thanks in advance!

I’m a 14 year old boy and in the past couple of days I’ve been experiencing dull aches in my kidney and abdomen. Just today it got worse and my kidney felt more pain than usual (not sharp). I don’t have nausea or a fever or anything just the aches. Do I have a kidney stone?

So my dads foot and leg starting changing color and going numb on Aug.31. Took an ambulance to the hospital where they did a CT scan and discovered he has 2 aneurysms 1 smaller one in his stomach and a larger one in the abdomen. He was told to the larger one has to be completely removed and to go for surgery the next day but my father refused, he was told he could die and may have to wait a cpl months before another chance at surgery but still opted to go home. He was told no strenuous activity at all, but my father an avid exerciser is still going on his walker each morning and stops when his leg cramps up which is also leading to his feet changing color but once again returning to "normal". Now he’s insisting on waiting to see his family dr on Sept.9 to discuss alternate options for surgery, he’s convinced that he didn’t need to hop straight into emergency surgery bc his leg returned to normal and he feels fine. He had a heart attack last year but the surgeon opted the medicinal route instead of bypass, so he does have clogged arteries and high blood pressure. I’m assuming with his age and heart conditions for the surgeon to want to do emergency surgery, which in itself is a risk i think, that his aneurysm must be serious? Just wondering professional opinions on my dads chances? Do you think its about the rupture with his feet acting the way they are? I live a cpl provinces away so was not able to question the surgeon myself or hear what he had to say. Don’t know if this helps but i read symptoms are abdominal pain which he has been having for I’d say about 6 months now but just assumed it was one of his heart medications or his dr told him it was most likely kidney stones. Chances of surviving till surgery if or when or even making it out of surgery itself? Sorry for the lengthy post and tia for any responses.

Does anyone know what these symptoms could be? I am having pain in the lower part of my abdomen on the left side and it travels through to my back. I have had bouts of constipation in the past but am confident that I am not at this time as I take Miralax daily. The pain is a dull and aching most of the time but there are times when it is sharp and jabbing. Oh, and I have had a complete hysterectomy so it does not have anything to do with that part of my anatomy and I don’t have kidney stones. Any ideas?

I went to the doctor for pain around my right kidney. I thought it was a kidney stone. They tested for it, that was not what I have. They sent me to the hospital for a CT Scan (at this point vomiting is occuring). CT Scan came back as a ruptured ovarian cyst. Blood Test came back with higher than normal white blood cells. Doctor hospitalized me until the white lood cells become normal amount, then sent me home with lots of pain meds. They did an ultra sound on my abdomen. Nothing abnormal. Any suggestions? Pain is severe, I wake up in tears from the pain.

Hello,
I took my best friend to the ER yesterday evening the has pain in her abdomen and back in the left side, she really scared me she was writhing and crying in pain she even needed me to hold her hand and to hold her.The ER doc recognized her symptoms at once she was passing a kidney stone, she got some fluids and pain mediication and will be out tomorrow.I would like to know why she exagerated her pain like this, she is an adult and a small rock in your body is not supposed to make you act like a crybaby,I feel resentful because she made me freak out so much for what has to feel probably nothing more than a navel piercing.
What is your feeling about his ?

My period is extremely irregular – I’ll get it once, say June 1st, then two weeks later, about June 15th, and then not again for another 4 weeks, so July 15th. And this has been "my cycle" for about 6 months. I’ve had my period for over 10 years and never really been regular or normal though.

My cramps have come to be more and more painful over time. I have had ovarian cysts before (found accidental when I was tested for kidney stones) but the pain I’m in is getting worse lately. I’ve tried the pill. I’ve tried probably almost every pill out there and they all make me crazy depressed or sick so I can’t take any form of birth control. But this pain is unbearable. It’s at the point that I can’t do anything for a good 24 hours because I’m in a ball in tears in so much pain in my abdomen, my back, my groin, down my legs to the point where I’m vomiting. And then I slowly come out of it with the aid of countless pain relievers and a heating pad. And this isn’t EVERY time I have my period. Pretty much every two months or so its this bad. The ones in between are no cup of tea but I’m not paralyzed in pain.

I know I have to go to my doctor but I don’t know what to even expect. Is there anything that can be done for this? Do I have to live in this pain? Could this be any sort of condition – I’ve looked up symptoms for endometriosis and PCOS but have no idea..Help =(

Ok. So, I had never even heard of this disease and I heard about it on the radio.
So here are my symptoms:
for three years now I have stomach problems.
HORRIBLE pain in the upper right of my abdomen, I had kidney stones about 3 months ago. It hurt.
gullbladder problems
i have anemia
am always depressed and have anxiety
I am ALWAYS tired. I get plenty of sleep and am sooooo fatigued all the time.
Just started having horrible back and joint (mainly knee and jaw) pain
Whenever I get a cold, it immediately turns into broncitis or strep.
Bad coughing anytime I lay down.

Could this all be related to Lupus? Any information would be great!

I have lame health, and I hurt, but my problem is now I won’t tell people about new symptoms ’cause I think they’ll make me hurt more, and I won’t let anyone stand near me because I’m so afraid they’ll bump into me… is there anything I can do to get over this?

have pancreatic cancer and kidney stones… pain’s mostly in my back and abdomen… my question is mainly about getting over the dumb fears I have… I don’t know… has anyone else been like this?

My husband has been having severe pain on the left side..just about the abdomen…and towards the back.
He has a ‘kidney stone’ history ,but this time too the doctor says the same.Though he is on medication ,yday night also he got severe pain and had to be given severe pain killers shots .
I am worried if the doc just went by our words of past history of kidney stone cause he didnt even physically check him once(the scan and xray reports didnt give enough clues on the issue ..even to the doc)
Can this be any other issue ?
i saw a general physician and then a urologist.
justnow enquired from the urologist,he says that the pain indicates that the stone is coming down.but i am seriously worried.

ok I need some serious answers please, because I am starting to get worried and can’t see a doctor at the moment.

Like three days ago, I started feeling slight uncomfortably in my left abdomen area. It wasn’t severe at all, but I could feel it being present. As days went by, I felt something similar on the right side of my abdomen and around the lower back. Today I feel it in my back, and kidney area and its increasing in pain I guess. Its not unbearably painful, but I think its increasing.

I am really worried as to what this is, and was wondering if someone could help me out. I think it might be kidney stones or something, which sounds like an absolutely painful removal treatment.

My cycles are somewhat irregular, usually ranging between 26-31 days, but more often than not, around 27-29 days. Only, this month, I am having a second period?! I just had one starting on the 14th. Lasted 5 days as usual, cramps, mood swings and all. Now, I just started bleeding again today. I was wondering if this would happen because I noticed the usual changes I have before my period (increase discharge, moody). Now that I started bleeding, I’m having cramps/ pressure…mostly back pain, and lots of pressure "down there" and in my bum…??

History:
I had a similar episode with the pressure not long ago, maybe 3-4 weeks ago. I had pain in my left abdomen (front and back, not so much on the side) and tons of pressure and some crampiness/back pressure/pain. Was told to go to the e-room, so I did. Tested for kidney stones and found nothing on CT scan or in blood work and was given IV. Followed up with my doc and she said bladder infection. Took antibiotics and later came down with staph infection on skin. Now I’m on my second week of strong antibiotics (ones used for MRSA) and skin is pretty much healed up.
A couple of days ago, my chest broke out overnight and looked like heat rash (folliculitis) which has since cleared up. Now, this…I feel like a crazy person! I don’t wanna go BACK to the doctor yet again…I feel like a hypochondriac, but I’m not imagining any of this. Could it just be stress with everything else going on with my body? My daughter started pre-k and is being defiant, and my husband is on his first deployment since joining the Army. So, def PLENTY of stressors.

Does this sound like the symptoms could possibly all be related? Is it cause for concern? Or likely just my body’s way of reacting to all of this stress?

About a year and a half ago I went to the doctor because of stomach pain. I had 5 small kidney stones. I was told to pass them and they never really told me what they were made of. About two months ago I went to urgent care with a fever and a severe pain in the low right side of my abdomen. I thought it was appendicitis but they said they found nothing wrong with me appendix. A few days later the doctor called and said I have a bunch of kidney stones (all small) and a small appendix stone. I am seeing a specialist soon, but the doctor I recently seen said surgery is likely… any advice on what is causing the stones?

I’m 15 and I’m a girl. I’ve been getting a dull pain in my left lower back (probably kidney) and in my front lower left abdomen (probably my bladder). I’m afraid of what it could be or become. Bladder infection? Kidney disease? Kidney failure? Urinary tract infection? Kidney stones? Some type of cancer? I did some research and from what Ive found, when a young girl expieriences pains such as mine, a doctor must do a pelvic exam. I don’t know how true this is but the reason I’ve always hated going to the doctor was because I was always afraid I’d get a pelvic exam for any visit to the doctors. So it turns out that now that I may have a serious problem, the only way to help myself is to do the thing I dread the most. Lovely. So anywho, I’ve been looking online, without actually being diagnosed, for cures to bladder infections and so on. I have failed but I hear alot of good things about cranberry juice and others said it wasn’t going to help me at all. Reasons for which i dont want a pelvic exam are basically because im embarrassed or ill be nervous and i also dont want to answer questions like "are you sexually active?" which im not, and "do you masturbate?" which i do. I also have some small sores on the front of my vagina from shaving and I don’t want the doctor to think it’s something else. What do you think I might have? Should I risk the visit for an exam? Are they even going to give me a pelvic exam? Is there any way I can get rid of this problem myself?

Im female 27 years old
History- had a UTI, 3 weeks ago- most noticeable symptom was that I had to urinate a lot more than usual and pain in right flank, couldn’t even sleep on that side, trouble sleeping, proteins and blood in urine
I will see the Doctor again very soon since Im not sure if Cipro worked
I took Cipro for 7 days 3 weeks ago for the UTI
My periods are normal, nothing unusual BUT for last two periods I continued to have pain, continues for a week, cramp like in lower right (always right side) abdomen back area
Sometimes a little tingle in my thigh area or behind my belly button or some where in my leg
but pain in my right side wont go away, it is felt when I sit down, the longer I sit for, the more uncomfortable the feeling
I am drinking at least 2 to 3 litres of water a day and eating more fibre than usual
Could I still have a UTI, I dont seem to have any nitrates/ proteins in my urine but I do have lots of white blood cells according to a home urine strip test I did twice
I have also been very gasy lately/ burps etc, also spicy food, caffiene and chocolate dont seem to agree with me lately, I limit these foods and caffiene already but it upsets my stomach a lot more these days
Could I have a kidney stone, kidney infection, ovarian cyst?
Help! Any advice on what this could be
