Straining when voiding..?
For the past month and a half, maybe even longer, I’ve been straining when going to the bathroom. It’s now getting uncomfortable and I’m not sure what’s causing it. I did have a surgical abortion in Feb’ 09 and was told this could cause damage to my urethra and other parts, obviously. (please no hate comments). Theres no burning or pain when I go to the bathroom, I just have to push and force myself to go. I’ll feel the urge to urinate but only a little comes out. I’ve been drinking lots of water hoping to flush whatever out.
Is this possible kidney stones/failure? I do have a sore lower back and cramps in my abdomen, but nothing where I can’t walk or move around. I have been getting some headaches more often then normal, I usually don’t get headaches.
I have a third appointment with my gyno on Monday morning, but Im not sure if it’s okay to wait till then. I first went there for this on 4/27/2009, was told I had a UTI, was give Cipro for three days. This seemed to help A LOT. I noticed during those days there was no straining, and I could feel the urge to urinate more. Its kind of a dull weak feeling now. I mentioned to my doctor the last time I had a UTI and was only given a 3day Cipro pack that it came back worse. So after I finished the medication and was still having symptoms that kept getting worse (only very little comes out now) I was told I need to wait for the medicine to take effect. Then after finally having a physical exam, I was told I didn’t have a UTI that I have a vaginal and a yeast infection. I completed both medications for those infections and feel worse off then before!!
My doctor just called and said they need to retake some tests and to come in on Monday. I informed her that Im having more trouble then before and lots of straining. She says, again, that theres nothing she can do until 7days after I took the medicine, as thats how long it takes to work.
Can someone please tell me if I should wait the weekend, go to the ER, slap my doctor in the face, anything?? I plan on changing doctors as they keep giving me the run around. Has this happened to any one before?
Sorry about the rant. Thank you in advanced!

I agree on going to a different doctor. That is ridiculous that they’re doing this to you. I’m in the process of finding a different doctor because I had a D&C one week ago today and I’m still having severe pain and she isn’t doing anything about it. I would go to the ER and tell them that you’ve been treated for 2 or 3 different infections with no change, but gotten worse. They will do testing and figure out what is going on for you. I had to do this with my pain and heavy bleeding. The ER is probably your best bet at this point because when you find another doctor sometimes it is weeks before you can get in! I hope I helped and I wish you the best of luck in getting the right medical treatment!
