As you’ve already figured out, the shoulder pain is from the surgical procedure (anaesthesia, gas inflation, etc).
If it’s only been a few days, she may just need to be patient. The info I see recommends getting up and moving around. Also drinking hot water or tea, and applying heat or massage.
So it sounds like you’re doing all the right things – if this doesn’t go away, call the doctor’s office and ask for something to cut the pain.

I know how painful gas bubbles can be. I got them all the time in my shoulder while I was on peritoneal dialysis. The best thing to do is move around, its painful but its the quickest way to get the bubble to move around and eventually out. I also used a heating pad which helped with the pain and then massaged it. As the above poster said, she has to be patient. Unfortunately, there’s no remedy to make it go away immediately.
