Kidney Stone Symptoms
I am 18 years old and I have a 7mm kidney stone, I am not sure where it is right now but I want to know if I will feel it when it actually comes out? I’m pretty sure I will but I stopped taking the pain medications because they were making me sick and I’m not sure if it came out or not because I am not having anymore symptoms like I was befor???
Can anyone tell me how its going to feel when it comes out, will I feel it? I have already been to the er and they said it has already passed my kidney…?
Thank you

I had kidney stones (when I was 5 months pregnant) and I felt like I was in labour. I stayed on my pain meds so I didn’t feel myself pass them but my aunt has kidney stones all the time and she described it as giving birth. Eventually she had to go to the ER because of the pain and had to have them lasered out. Sometimes if they are larger they don’t pass as well so you have to seek an alternate route, so if the pain gets severe, don’t wait, go to your doctor. Good luck!!

I have never had them myself, but when I was in highschool a close friend of me had them. She said it was quite painful to pass them. Much for painful for men though from what I have heard. If you say the medicine you on now makes you sick, I would consider going to the doctor discussing it with them and seeing if they can recommend something to else. I would imagine it would be quite painful to pass them with no medication. If you say you are now feeling much better, itsa good sign, either way I would check with your doc. Good luckhun!

You may feel it. Some people say that it can feel like passing a piece of glass. When you had pain at one point the stone was probaly moving it’s way out of your kidney. If the ER people told you it is out of your kidney, it could be in your ureter (tube that leads from the kidney’s to the bladder) or your bladder. If it is in your ureter it can cause an obstruction (hydronephrosis or hydroureternephrosis). Do you have a urologist. You should make an appointment with one. They may be able to manually remove that for you or discuss options to help you pass it (and prevent them). Take care!
