Kidney Stone Pain Questions
My dad has had kidney stones since he was about 25. Now my sister has one at 19. Do you think I have a greater chance of getting them now since my sister has them? I’m only 13 and it scares me because I’m watching my sister go through all this pain and I don’t want to have to go through it too.
my dad said that if one child has it then the others have 0 chance of them. his doctor said that, but online it says that that is not proven, but more of an opinion. which is right?

Chances are you will.
Sorry kid. You’ve got the genetic predisposition and any since your sis has developed them, you are probably also subject to the same environmental factors likely to precipitate the condition.

maybe, but this means you might not get them also. Focus on that.
