Kidney Stones Prevention
I just did a ultra sound and got a notice saying that I have a 0.5 x 0.7 cm Calculus in the lower pole of the left kidney. Ever since I had kidney stones two years three years ago, I’ve been getting them every year! Last year i went to ER for that. My question is how do you prevent kidney stones? How do you get rid of them once you have it ( I have one right now) ? Is 0.5 x 0.7 cm consider a big stone or small? I use computer all day, that might be the case i got stones? cause i always get thirsty.

You need to drink a lot of water, to begin with. Crystals of various chemicals form in higher concentrations, plus you want any little crystals to wash out. So start bringing water to your desk, with a straw, and drink lots of water. It doesn’t have to be plain water, either.
There are several kinds of kidney stones. The most common are calcium oxalate. I got those once by overindulging in kale for a week. I later found out that if you cook kale with milk, the danger posed by oxalic acid is reduced because it combines with the calcium in the milk before it gets to your kidneys (goes out the other way). You can increase the amount of calcium you ingest when you are eating any of the vegetables and other things that contain oxalic acid. Spinach is the most likely one — eat it creamed, and have some Tums with it.
You can find out what type of stones you have. If they are not oxalate, they may be urea, which means you need to reduce your protein intake somewhat. You can ask your urologist about all this!
Drink LOTS of water every day. You should pee clear white.
