Kidney Stone Symptoms
A few days ago I went to the ER with abdominal cramps on the right side, fearing it may be my appendix for another kidney stone. However, all tests ame back negative, and I could not be diagnosed with anything. Its a few days later and im still having these cramps. They are also accompanied by bloating and back pain. Also, my bowel movements have been very irregular. Im 21, any idea what could be causing all of this????
I did find it interesting that this started after eating a bunch of sushi at a japanese restaraunt. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Go see a GI specialist!

Sounds like you may have a bowel obstruction. Drink lots of water, perhaps add a fiber supplement for a couple days. If you aren’t getting any relief (meaning, your bowels return back to normal) you may want to go back to the ER.

have you looked into irritable bowel syndrome. it is considered a functional GI disorder, which means there is no test to diagnose it, but there are real positive symptoms. IBS if normally found in early twenty’s, it can be in both men and women, but 70% of them are women. people think it is just stress related or all in your head, but that is just foolish. it is a real disorder and can be debilitating. however, it is a disorder of exclusion (if all other tests come back negative, the only thing left on the differential is IBS) as far as treatment, if you have it, is conjunctive therapy of relaxation behavioral techniques and pharmacology meds. so think about it, but dont convince yourself of it. start keeping tabs of your symptoms, so that if they dont go away, you can go to the doctor informed and armed with symptoms descriptions to help point the doc in the right direction. hope you feel better.

If the tests are negative then hopefully it nothing more than a gut infection – which normally goes away after a week or a little more. Either from something you’ve eaten or from some form of faecal/oral intake (ie not washing hands then eating or using something dirty).
Symptons can range from a simple upset stomach and small irregular bowel moevements to full on gastrointeritis (which is cripping abdominal cramps and large dirhaea).
If it is any of the above either ride it out for a week and see how it goes or try and obtain Ciprofloxin (uk name) which is an anti-biotic specific to targeting most bacterial gut infections
Hope it is something like that…otherwise keep nagging the doctors!
