Have you ever had kidney stones and they have never passed? And why?

Kidney Stone Pain Questions
I went to the ER with severe pain in my right kidney area. The pain was very intense and migrated to my groin area. After the ER Doc filled me with morphine and I woke from a quick nap I have had no pain since then. I am wondering if this was even kidney stones or something else.

I have numerous tiny kidney stones that pass all the time.
I have giant ones that will never pass.
Go to a urologist and request x-rays and/or sonograms to identify whether or not there are stones.
They will give you a recepticle to collect 24 hours worth of urine for testing to determine the type of stones involved.
Call your local water department and ask if there are high concentrations of Calcium in your tap water. If there is – avoid high doses of vitamin C – (like with cranberry juice) as that will cause someone who has stones to form MORE.
Up the amount of water you drink.
Your urine should NEVER have a strong color if you have stones. The impurities help make stones.
NEVER make it totally clear either – that wipes out your electrolytes and puts you at great risk of passing out, heart attack or in the ultimate extreme: death.
I am an obese diabetic – My large body handles 5-7 liters of water a day to maintain the right levels… a skinny person may just do the natural 2 liters a day to be fine. (2 Liters=8 glass minimum.) Maintaining hydration helps little stones pass fast – and keeps the big ones from causing pain.
The morphine may have made you relax and allowed the stone to pass. Ask the hospital for copies of your records to see their actual diagnosis.
Once a Urologist identifies the TYPE of stones you are forming – they will provide you with a diet to follow and to best prevent future stones.
Good luck hon.
Peace.

I went from everything is just fine to I can’t walk, I can’t even talk I am in so much pain in about five minutes. They gave me something in the ER stopped the pain and I passed the
7mm black stone with spikes on it about one week later.
Kidney stones only hurt going down the tube from your kidney to your bladder. I still have a 9 mm in my kidney and it ever gets going down that tube I know I will being going down where ever I happen to be. I can not handle a 7 mm
I might have to have that 9mm busted up with ultrasonic waves.
Your stone maybe in your bladder, you should have it Xrayed.
As far as how much pain was involved, on a scale from 1 to 10 it was a firm 8 or even a 9.
