I heard that shihtzu's get gall stones real easy??? Is this from food or what??? any help will do

Some breeds are just more prone to certain problems than others are. I found a study that I will link below saying that high carbohydrate diets are related to the problem. That idea also mirrors what Dr. Atkins says about human gallstones, so it makes sense to me. Sugars in any form even grains increase the risk of gallstones.

If I had a shih tzu right now, I would feed it a high protein diet with few to no grains. He would love steak everyday!
