PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING . IMPORTANT !! My guinea pig has been peeing blood and
her # 2 is diarrhea . She also has
been really quiet and isn’t eating or drinking except for some lettuce . We took her to the vet this
morning , they gave her an x-ray and what I thought was a urinary tract infection was a kidney stone
blocking her bladder.We have 3 options . A. Give her antibiotics and let the kidney stone stay there , letting my poor Rosie suffer . B. Do nothing (Not an option ! ) C. Give her surgery. Either way , my guinea pig may die . The anesthesia involved may kill her . She may never wake up . She may die of shock also . We cannot dissolve the kidney stone either .
Please pray for Rosie that she will survive . I am just a 13 year old . I don’t know what to do ! I’m really in need of some comforting words .Thank you .

my dad has had kidney stones for about 14 years now and he still has hundreds of stones..my dad can work and has been curently out of work with the kidney stones.. i want him to get better i think its time for him to actually have something good in his life.. doctor says theirs nothing wrong with the kidney its perfectly fine beside its full of stones…
i just want to know if anyone can give any ideas on how to like dissolve the stones or like how to pass them faster so my dad can finally live his life with out the horrid pain hunting him.?

We got e science diet dog food to help dissolve the food. Just wondering how long it takes? He has been on it for about a week and the first coupled days he was still preying blood but these last 2 days I havnt seen any bloody urine? And also his poop is weird? Like it looks like gross like different. Is it from the food? And he won’t hardly drink any water…so what does that mean?? Is he getting betterr since he’s not peeing blood and how can I get him to drink more water?

So I go to the doctor and he tells me I have kidney stones and prescribes muscle relaxers for my stomach that make me feel like complete crap and doesn’t even tell me how to get rid of them.
How do I get rid or dissolve my kidney stones? They hurt so f*cking bad!

I’ve been researching a lot about kidney stones home remedies lately and I’ve come across many. The most pleasant to me was the coconut water/buko juice, though I need to know if this is really as effective as people say, and if not, are there any REALLY effective ways on dissolving kidney stones at home? I don’t know if Joe Barton’s remedy really works, since, drinking too much coca cola was the cause of my stones (which I am too frightened to risk by drinking 2 liters of). I would greatly appreciate any helpful tips, too.
And also, it says in Joe Barton’s remedy to puree asparagus and drink 6 cans of coke, but this confuses me greatly. I’ve heard that coke contains oxidants, which is the cause of stones, though if not, it still contains a lot of sugar which is also not good for someone with kidney stones.

I have had a 2.5mm kidney stone at the junction right before it goes to the bladder…according to a cat scan. Its not excruciating, just crampy, and terribly uncomfortable, not to mention confusing pain. My urologist is "surgery happy" i think, and when i ask if this or that is "normal" pain, all he says "if it hurts to much , I’ll take it out." well, that involves SURGERY, and i believe i have a good chance in passing this size. However, its been 3 weeks, and it makes me feel like I have a UTI also. I don’t. Been checked twice for infection. How much longer till this thing could pass? Is this amount of time common???

Like I mentioned before, I have never passed one. The only pain I have ever had from them, is when I had medical surgeries to have them removed, sounds goofy right? As I understand, to become a pilot, you must pass a medical exam and kidney stones are a dis qualifier. If I have a clean record of not passing kidney stones, and if i continue to have them removed semi-annually or even annually, is there any chance I can pursue a career in professional aviation?

I had kidney stone surgery June of last year well to make a long story short am bleeding when I urinate again and my back is really hurting have a urologist appointment this afternoon and just know that he’s gonna tell me that I’ll need surgery again (I don’t pass the stones)
MY question is this when my back first started acting up again my urologist told me that they could not go and get the stones unless am in acute distress because it would actually hurt my kidneys? Has anyone heard that be4? It just doesn’t make since to us at all?

This is actually about my boyfriend. He /very/ recently passed a kidney and the doctor’s told him that the kidney stone had broken up into a dust. So….I guess he was passing that dust you could say. (I don’t know) I think afterwards he said that he ended up with a UTI.
My real concern is that he has a lump on his back now. It’s somewhat big. It’s not very large, but just one big flat-ish lump. I guess you could compare it to a bump in the road. (forgive me I’m trying to give you a better idea of what I’m talking about) The doctor’s don’t know what it is (as he told me). It hurts to the touch, and I think his back is still hurting, too. What is wrong? I really want to know.

I had surgery last Wed. due to unable to pass a kidney stone. Then left a stent in me. And now going to get the stent removed this friday. Has anyone had this done and how painful is the remove of the stent. I am a female if that helps. Kind of nervous here.

I went to the ER on Tuesday w/ pain from kidney stones. I had them once before, back in October 2005, so I recognized the pain immediately. I was given IV w/ pain meds til the pain was under control. Then sent home w/ pain meds til I passed the stone(s), which I did a couple of days later.
But the ER dr said the scan showed I have at least one stone in each kidney. I know I need to see a urologist to talk about the stones, but I cant see one til June 16th. My husband and I REALLY want to get pregnant soon. Would it be horrible if we got pregnant before I could see the urologist? Or should we wait to try afterwards…even if it means having a baby much later than we wanted. Of course, we would still be happy but it would make things harder timing-wise (ie my sister’s wedding and my husbands work).
Anyone had stones during pregnancy?
Is it possible the stones would just stay in my kidneys thru the pregnancy and I could deal w/ them afterwards?
I am not afraid that having them will affect my chances of getting pregnant. Just wondering if we should wait to try until we’ve had the stones taken care of?
Or is there a chance when I am pregnant they will just stay in my kidneys and I wont have to deal w/ them til after the birth (and nursing)?

I passed a kidney stone around 3-4 months ago…. I haven’t had any problems since. Is there a waiting period or time frame I’ll have to wait, before the ARMY will except me for active duty?

Over the last 2 years I have been diagnosed four times with Kidney stones (Calcium). I’m a 42 year old male who is about 40 pounds overweight. I also have a condition called episodic ataxia and am currently taking the drug acetazolamide. I was hospitalized every time b/c I was unable to pass the stones on my own. Either they were too big or they were stuck.
This last trip to the ER my urine tested positive for renal insufficency. I need to get to the bottom of this. The medication I take for the ataxia has a side affect of kidney stones. According to my neurologist I need to go off the meds to stop the stones. According to my urologist, its not the cause of the stones.
Please offer any suggestions. thanks

I had a large kidney stone 8mm, several years ago. Now I have passed 8 stones, then had a ct scan, and they have found I have at least 4 more. Why? I have never heard of anyone having so many!!

so for the last several weeks i have had blood in my urine, but the doctors have not figured out why yet. (they have tested for infections and other problems of that nature) But on Saturday night i was in the car with my boyfriend and i suddenly felt the most intense crampy spasmy like pain in my back on the left side below my ribs. the pain was horrible, so bad that i passed out and he brought me to the ER, where they did CT scans, EKG, blood tests, etc and came up with nothing still. 
The doc told me that it could have been a kidney stone (without calcium or something) that wouldnt show up in the scans or i could have already passed the stone. Since then i have felt mostly fine, except a few less intense pains in the same area every once in a while. I’m going back to my regular doctor later this week for more tests, but im just wondering if this sounds like kidney stones? or if anyone else has any other thoughts? I’m just curious !(im 19 and no family history of kidney stones)

I found out on Monday that I have kidney stones. For the past 3 days, I have been in overwhelming pain in my right kidney, and since last night, there has been a lot of blood in my urine. I am unsure of whether or not there’s a large stone to pass or just a bunch of little ones because ever since Monday I have passed a lot of little stones that are about the size of grains of sand, but nothing bigger. I also am not taking any pain medication because I got sick off of the Vicodin they gave me.
My question is this: How long will it take me to pass the stone(s), and how will I know I am done for sure? I am just terrified I will go into labor before I get through this, as I am already 37 weeks today.
