My mom has gall stones, and her dr. says she needs to have her gall bladder removed. She would like to hear some other people’s experiences with gall stones. Have you ever had them? Did you have to have your gall bladder removed? If so, what was the recovery like, and how large/how many were your scars? How long was it before you were back at work after the surgery?

After several consoltations with gps and specialists they have concluded that they think I’ve gallstones. He is sending me for an ultrasound…after having blood tests and xrays and pap smear that were normal. Having pain in tummy, back, sholder, armpits and leg pain and numbness in legs, stomach bloat pain in chest and weird breathing ? (Tho I think the breathing thing is possibly anxiety?). Any1 get this?
I went over the questions they ask you at MEPS and one of them asked if you ever had any problems with gall stones or your gall bladder and ive had gall stones but i had it removed when i was 14. does this disqualify me in any way from joining?
One of my friends had gastric bypass surgery in July (one of the side we were told about was gall stones/attacks). On christmas she was complaining of the following: bad indigestion and gas (not relieved even by taking four anti-gas pills, pain near the breastbone, constipation that would not go away with laxitives, and pain near the shoulders and in the back. Any help?
Also, my friend is currently laid off and so she does not want to pay for a doctor unless it is absolutely necessary.

i have severe gall stones at the moment but for the past few weeks my urine has smelt like ammonia, and slightly dark ive been feeling incredibly dizzy to the point where if i don’t lay down i will fall over. i’ve been really tired spending most of my time in bed and sleeping, im always thirsty but it doesn’t seem enough sometimes. my gp just ignores it and says its normal but im not sure my mother and aunt who have had gall stones never had this happen, although my case is more severe than them. i worried has anyone else experienced this or know someone or whats going on ? please help

i just recently did the flush and it worked tho it’s been 3 days since and im still having pains on my right abdomen is that normal.. and will the stones ever come back and are there still any left?
my mom just got out of the hospital like 6 hours ago…due to a gall bladder infection.She also had gall stones..
They took out the whole damn thing.
I have been trying to find what could have caused it.

gallstones run in my family and more than half of my family has had their gall bladder removed due to complications. I just want to be proactive instead of having to deal with severe pain and have it removed later in life.
lemme know if stones can be removed without removing gall bladder.
