I am 24yrs and during or around my monthly period I get a kidney infection. This has been the case for at least 6months. 4weeks ago i was admitted to hospital and was there for 3 days being treated for suspected kidney stones. Havent had CT scan yet although they did find an echo on my left kidney and i had all the symptoms of kidney infection, as well as testing positive for all kinds of bacteria in my urine..I havent passed any stones as yet.
I started my period again yesterday and woke up this morning with the start of another infection… have been to see my gp who is just contradicting what the hospital have said and didnt prescribe me with any antibiotics so looks like im going to be back in a&e tomorrow when it progresses! no one can explain why the infection kick starts on or around my period and i would just like some other suggestions??!!

I have looked at a million websites and they all say ‘pain while urinating’. In my case, though, I am having pain after urination. Is that normal?? does that mean that I am getting ready to pass the stone finally? Please help, can’t afford to go to the doctor and this is my first instance with stones, so, I am very blind to what is going on with me.
I have already been diagnosed with kidney stones though. Just by chance they showed up on a CT Scan at the Hospital.

I just found out i had a kidney stone and they told me it should pass in 4-6 hours. Other than drinking water, what can i do to make it pass faster and does it hurt?

I suspect I have a kidney stone. What can I do to relieve the symptoms while waiting for it to pass?

I know I have to wait this thing out. I’ve been noticing small symptoms set in for over a week, and now I’m feeling a swollen sensation in my side and belly, along with discomfort. Also, I’ve been having a large amount of bowel movements which are followed by an achy sort of pain on the right side of my back.

While I’m waiting for this kidney stone to go through it’s stages of passing, what can I do to make my life more comfortable? Thank you :)
No, no doctor. They always just tell me to drink water and cranberry juice, so I decided to handle it myself, and only go if it got much worse.

I am 30 weeks pregnant. I told my obgyn over a month ago that I was having severe abdominal pain under my right rib. She told me it was likely my gallbladder and to adjust my diet and follow up in 30 days. Well my pain had actually gotten worse after I changed my diet. I ended up in the urgent care where as much of an abdominal ultrasound that could be performed was. After 8 hours and a ton of blood samples accidentally from my artery none the less they were inconclusive as to where my pain was coming from because they had limited vision from my daugheters positioning. They did how ever find some "good sized" kidney stones. Now, I know that is not the pain I am suffering from, although I am anticipation the passage of

I have had a on again, off again sharp, burning pain in my right rib area. I went to the doctors and had blood work and a urinalysis which both came back clean. CT scan revealed a 2mm kidney stone. I’m not sure if this stone is the cause of my pain though. from everything i’ve read kidney stone pain occurs mostly in the back, while my pain is in the front, and feels very close to the surface (my skin in that area and corner of my ribs are tender to the touch). Also, the pain has been pretty stationary…not downward moving as i have read should be the case. Does this sound like kidney stone pain? Please HELP!

I am 27 wks pregnant and since monday I was diagnosed with kidney stones and treating it at home as an outpatient, it’s been the most painful and horrible experiance ever, and finally this morning on day 5 I started to pass stones, I have passed 3 tomato seed size little rocks and a bunch of sand looking stuff, and I still feel like there is more coming…my question is how long after passing stones does the pain in the kidney and back fully go away, and how long does it take to pass ALL the stones you have (who know show many are in there) please share your personal experiance….thanks so much.

I heard that the natural bacteria in a man’s penis can get into a woman’s urethra during sex and travel up to her bladder, causing an infection. Also, I heard that peeing soon after sex will wash that bad bacteria away. Is this true?

My dog is a 9 year old Pug and weighs 21 lbs. We just took him to the Vet and we found out he has a few kidney stones. The surgery is ,000 and we can not afford it right now.
Any home remedies or supplements I could give to him would be very helpful.
Thank you so much.
Yeah, I can take care of my dog quite well actually. Which is why i’m trying to do this for him. I’d much rather keep him & take care of him instead of having no money for him or my family. But thanks for your opinion. :)

My mom has been having pains under her stomach area and it moves/rotates to the left, then right, and sometimes even to the back. She can not describe the pain, but it has been there for a while, about a month or so.

She went to the hospital 2 weeks ago and they diagnosed it as Urinary Tract Infection and gave her antibiotics. She finished the antibiotics, but still had the pain. People even told her to drink cranberry juice, but still no help. She went to the doctor and he diagnosed it as Kidney Stones, and again, gave her more antibiotics, and same story, finished the pills, but no help. She has another appt in 2 days, but the pain is so unbearable she can’t even bear to walk or sleep.

So has anyone had any of those symptoms? Do you know what this is? please help, any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Sometimes, i can easily drink a 2L bottle in a day. I just keep taking swigs at it (and i burp afterwards lol.. only when i’m by myself… i live alone). I’ve tried to stop drinking pop but i diet a lot and when i’m on a diet, i’ll drink pop, juice, milk, anything to prevent me from eating. I also eat candy (mostly hard candy in my mouth to prevent me from eating). I worry about kidney stones and other things like that.
So how much pop do YOU drink per day?
Sometimes i go on diets where i stop drinking pop altogether and i can last for weeks and then i just snap and binge on pop lol. Come to think of it, maybe i should give it up for Lent.
I also heard that drinking lots of water can keep you clear of kidney stones. I tend to drink a lot of water and i have for years. It’s just this pop habit that i’ve gotta kick. I just love the fizzle… nothing else can give you that. Flat pop is useless to me.
sparkling water is still a carbonated drink, isn’t it? That’s all i need is to get hooked on another one of those. I highly doubt that i can find anything to replace pop. That’s like trying to find a replacement for pizza. Face it, there’s nothing like the real thing.

it cause you to sleep a lot too ?
Its actually my Mom who is suffering right now. She thinks she passed a stone at work yesterday, and she pretty much did a 180 and was wide awake for half of today when she has been sleeping a lot. I should have mentioned that she is an insulin diabetic and her sugar has been running really high most of this past week, like 500 high and now she has it stable at 250 give or take.
Well the last time she had a kidney stone "attack" her sugar was out of control. But never this bad. She does not have a doctor (No health Ins.) but she said she will be going to the E.R. tonight and hopefully they can help her.
My mother was just admited to the hospital with sever kidney infection. They have her on pain killers and I am assuming a strong antibiotic. They said that they should be able to clear out the infection, but if it doesn’t clear out she might have to dialysis. I tried to get her to go Friday night to the hospital but she kept holding it off because of no insurance, but I hope it is not too late for her.

So I just turned 16 this month, and the past few weeks I had been convinced I had a kidney stone. I’m a male. I’m not 100% sure, the thought just popped into my head one day for some reason when I stretched and felt a pain in my groin area. Ever since then I’ve just been really paranoid, and my paranoia may been psyching me into thinking I have something I don’t.

I read that blood in the urine is one of the symptoms, and I haven’t had any of that yet. I’ve been trying to drink as much water as a can, but I’m not sure how much I should be drinking. Help? Do I have one? CAN I even have one? Really kind of scared right now.

I recently had the surgery for kidney stone removal today. The wire in my penis seems to pinch, especially through inevitable movement. I assume this is normal? Is there any way to prevent or minimize the pinching? Also, is it dangerous to be erect?

I drink a gallon of water every day, at least try to. By the way that is only 8 bottles of water (exactly, I tested it) & 8 glasses of water is the recommended amount of water to drink per day, or so I hear from sesame street.

Anyway, I want to put a little lemon juice in my water each day, can that be bad? I just want to get one lemon, & squeeze all the juice out of it, into my water. No sugar, no syrup nothing. Just lemon.

Thanks guys & god bless you!

My friend got a CAT-Scan a little while ago, after being admitted to the hospital with intense stomach pains. Now they are saying that he may have a kidney stone. Which is weird. Because about three weeks ago, his father passed a kidney stone. His case was quite phenomenal because his stone was passed within 4 hours.

What do you think? Is it possible for a 20-year-old to have a kidney stone?
