My cat, Boss, is a Maine Coon mix. I’m very worried about him and was hoping someone could give me some advice before our appointment on Tuesday.

He’s going on 6 years old, and until about the last 6 months has been completely healthy, and up to date with all his shots.

We got a puppy one year ago.. I don’t know if that has anything to do with anything, but a year ago the home environment DID change, but he and my dog get a long fine. In the last 6 months he’s lost a lot of weight. His demeanor has not changed, he’s still extremely friendly and affectionate. He eats all the time, but he also throws up all the time. It use to be just a hassle that he threw up, but now that it’s becoming more frequent (3+ times a week) i’m starting to get very concerned. He used to be the "fat kitty", and now he’s pretty scranny. Not emaciated, just scrawny.

What concerns be the most, is that he’s started developing little "scabs", that are not inflicted by another animal, seeing as though he’s an inside cat. One is under his chin, and one is under his lip. They’re small, but you can see them. They’re not open sores, just circular scabs. Does this sound like kitty skin cancer? :*( I also noticed this morning, that on his chest he has a new 2×2 bald spot. No tenderness or irratation.. just a new bald spot.

I’m worried sick. My brother bought him and his brother, Champ, for me as a gift at a very difficult time in my life and i’m not sure what i’d do right now if I lost one. Champ shows NO symptoms, however I worry because he’s had surgery three years ago because he continuously developed kidney stones, and i’ve recently switched the cats from "uninary track" cat food, to "sensitive digestive track" food, for Boss. It temporary slowed down the vomitting, but now it’s back. Should I switch the food back to benefit Champ?

Any help would be SO appreciated… thank you so much.
Thank you.. I should’ve known. I had a Siberian Husky who had skin ailments due to dry food.. the vet just told us that it was because we used cheap cat food. I’ve purchased expensive dry cat and dog food from the vet from that point on. I should’ve known. Thank you very much!!

I have a little nearly 5 year old, 6 lb chihuahua that just got neutered. He’s a family dog and it has taken me years to convince the family that he needed to be neutered. Finally after all these years, I took him to the vet and had the poor thing castrated. I feel that I waited a little too long to neuter him.

1. I feel that he might be affected psychologically, because he won’t have testosterone anymore and he won’t be himself because of that. He was a very manly, loving loyal dog and we loved his chihuahua traits. Will he be lost without his testosterone?

2. I feel guilty because he’s a house dog that could never pregnate any other dog, because he’s always with us. So I feel that other than the very very small chance of him having testicular cancers and such, he didn’t have a good enough reason to get neutered.

3. But then I had him neutered mostly because he was peeing blood so that is a good enough reason for me. The vet told me that him peeing blood had nothing to do with him not being neutered. Ever since yesterday, after his castration, he hasn’t been peeing blood….so I do think him not being neutered had something to do with him peeing blood. So was the vet right or was I right? Does peeing blood have anything to do with not being neutered? He’s also taking antibiotics so in 14 days he will go back to the vet for seuter removal. By then if by any chance he pee’s blood, I will have an x-ray done. It might be UTI or kidney stones or much more serious, like a tumor. Part of me says I should’ve listened to the vet and had an x-ray done before castrating him but if he’s not peeing blood anymore, then I might’ve done the right thing. If it’s UTI then the antibiotics will clear it up.

Other than being a little sleepy, he’s doing really good. He’s still an attention hog and wants to cuddle. He’s really quiet and peaceful. I’m worried he’ll stay this way forever.

So considering all things listed, did I do the right thing?

Some sources say coffee helps prevent kidney stones , others say it causes dehydration.

I recently lost my last living grandparent and her passing was more so a relief than painful. What I mean is…She had Alzheimers and Kidney problems. When you see thedeteriorationn of a loved one, you cry for them because of the pain and suffering they endure while living. Upon her death…I was more so happy that she does not have to suffer anymore. But another grandma who died 5yrs prior to the most recent, was extremely painful. I say this because No one, not even grandma knew how sick she was. It’s like once the doctor told her she had heart disease at 80, she was gone the next week. So no one had time to prepare or experience any deathly illness with her so it was harder for me to cope with. I visit her stone every Wed. once a month. I still can’t let it go.

I was in the ER 2 days ago for a kidney stone. They said it was 2mm and it would pass on it’s own. I have pain on and off. They said once the stone gets to my bladder it won’t hurt anymore, but will it hurt on the way out? How long will this take?

My husband is 30 yrs old and he is dying of "nobody knows" he has a number of symptoms that can not be explained!! We have been to a Urologist, a Neurologist, a family doctor, and the best Infectious Disease Dr. in the state, plus we have spent ,000 in cash to pay for him to go to the Diamond Clinic in Chicago, which is out of state for us and he has had 5 operations this past 6 months to clear out all the Kidney stones but within 6 weeks they are all back, These are all his symptoms:
Extreme Cluster Migraines, Kidney stones, all his joints are very swollen, his legs tingle and go numb, very high blood pressure, he has rashes that come up all over his legs, vomiting, chest pains, blood in urine, constant kidney infection, He has had Salmonella poisoning for 15 months and they can not get rid of it, they did a bone density test and he has the bones of a 90 yr old, he has broken 3 ribs breathing hard, they have had him on Steroids for a long time to help control the headaches but it in turn causes other things, but he is getting worse by the day and we have 3 young children and I am at a loss of what to do now? None of the doctors seem to know anything other than trying to load him up on pain killers to control pain, but he was an addict years ago and does not take the pain meds, so what now?

I am trying to determine if I have kidney stones. I had a urinary tract infection and was given two courses of antibiotics. I then ended up on the ER 5 days ago with a kidney infection. I had severe back pain and was vomiting all day. I have been taking two different antibiotics for five days now and my back pain is getting unbearable and I am now wetting myself without even realizing it. Can this be a signs of kidney stones? Should I go back to the ER?

A few minutes ago my husband had to pee and it came out brown (he said it looked like iced tea) :/ Im just wondering what this could be? I’ve seen kidney stones, dehydration and change of diet on here and was just wondering what it really is..has this happened to any men out there? what did it end up being? His only diet change is we’ve been jogging a mile every night..but if anything you’d think that would make you healthier..just please help..thank you.

I passed one kidney stone already last Wednesday and I have another one and the pain is exhausting!!! I am going to a urologist tomorrow morning. They said it is a size 4mm. It is costing me time off of work. It is really starting to disrupt my life. I do have pain medicine from the emergency room. I just keep taking off of work. Any advice on this subject.

Ok, I went to the hospital for pain in my back. I knew that it was kidney stones, I have a history of them. They found a very small stone, said it wasn’t big enough to cause the pain (bull crap!). They also sent out a urine culture because there was 3 plus bacteria in my urine. It took them 5 days to tell me that I didn’t have a bladder infection. But I have a constant burning sensation in my vagina, not just when I pee, its hard to pee and today there was a little bit of blood on the toilet paper (not from my butt). I know that the kidney stone is causing the pain despite what they said but should I be worried about the blood? I have an appt tomorrow but Im still worried. Does it sound like a bladder infection?
Anybody? :(

On Sunday morning I was awakened by a terrible pain in my side, and it progressed to sheer agony over the course of an hour while I waited for a ride to the hospital. I was crying out because it hurt so bad, until they gave me dilaudid and then they were able to give me a ct scan and found a kidney stone that is blocking my ureter. They gave me pain pills and told me to stay hydrated and that hopefully it will pass…so far I have been sieving it and have only seen a bit of sand like grains. Peeing has not hurt and I am still in a lot of pain, so I assume the stone has not passed. What I need to know is, how long should I wait for it to pass on it’s own, before going to see about having it removed? The pain pills will run out soon, and I have to chase around 2 small kids, and it is agonizing..but I have no insurance and I need a firm idea of when enough is enough. This would end up costing me for years to come, so I can’t afford to jump the gun, but I also can’t damage my body beyond repair either…..

bf is worried and jumping to the conclusion he has cancer but everything he tells me sounds like kidney stones and would like more information about what you went through and all that. and how long were you in pain before taking care of the problem. He says he has another appointment with his dr. in a week.

My husband and I had sex on the thirteenth day of my cycle and that was about five days ago. I’ve recently started to feel like I am getting a urinary tract infection. Could this be a sign that I’m pregnant?

I started working out and i was asked to take protein (twice of my Weight) So i started taking protein in all meals (20 Eggs + chicken) a day with (Protein & less carbs however after 1 month i replaced egg intake with whey protein 5 scoops a day which was twice of my weight) i got amazing changes in my body. However 1 day i had terrible pain in stomach consulted by Dr. and got to know i have 16 stones in and around kidney. starting from 4mm,5mm,7mm 10mm, 15 mm and so on..

I was told by the Dr it is because of taking to much of protein in your diet. However after now i have started going to gym again and i have been asked not to take protein in my meals can any one suggest me what shall i do? is there any replacement of protein which i can take for gaining muscles ???

(I have managed to get rid of 12 stones out of 16 however the remaining one are big 16 Mm these are CALICUT & OXIDE stones)

Someone I know is having a medical procedure, a extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy and she’s a bit scared and posted it on her FB wall. I wanted to comment but didn’t know what to say.

I was asked in some medical exam I’d taken regarding my parents/siblings medical history, and one of the questions were something about urine disease, and I answered negatively.
My dad had kidney stones twice in the past, and I wonder if it counts as a disease?
