My dog has kidney (or urinary?) stones. My local vet in Alpharetta, GA said it costs 0 for the removal surgery. UGA has a top-rated vet school nearby. Should I bring her here for the surgery? Also, is it cheaper? Thank you!

I am wondering if there is anything I can do to prevent/help with my kidney stones. I have one that the Dr. said won’t pass and I’m trying to avoid it coming to that point as he said he has no idea when this one will pass. Is there anything I can do to prevent it passing? I really want to avoid the laser surgery, it seems like it would be painful lol :/ Also does cranberry juice really help? Any ideas?
I just found out i have a kidney stone a few days ago. He said on a scale of 1-10, its about a 0.1… but its been almost a week and i havent passed it yet. I still have pain in my side every once in awhile, and he said i would know when i pass it, but i havent felt much pain. I do drink alot of water, and urinate quite often through out the day. So my question is, will i feel it coming on, or will it just start to pass? Also, how long will it hurt afterwards?
I have strong abdominal pain and the doctor says its kidney stones its the second time i have had the pain which last for months How can i pass the stone fast so that the doctor can analyze the stone. Im only 13 so nothing Extreme please.
I had a baby in October of ‘08 and I had a cesarean section. From December, I started having lower back pain occasionally. It would last a couple of days to a week at the most and felt like I had just pulled something. I rested, and it went away. I have a big baby and I figured it was just strain on my muscles etc. Well, since then its happened more often and for longer periods. The most recent episode has lasted for about a month now. I initially went to see a chiropractor who did Xrays. He found that I have mild scoliosis and some disk degeneration but hes been treating me for 3 weeks, every day and he is puzzled. He told me to go to my MD and get treatment from her because its something beyond him. He says my pain levels should have gone down by now, and the pain is really becoming more focused on an area that is above where he is seeing probs on the xrays. BTW the pain is now so bad that at times I cant even walk, and it radiates to my hips and down my legs.
So I went to my MD today. I have been running a fever for 4 days, I have blood in my urine. She has ordered a full panel of blood tests, more xrays, and depending on those results she might order an MRI. But her first suspicion is a kidney stone or kidney infection. Im going to take the tests tomorrow and ask for them to be rushed.
Im confused… can a kidney infection left untreated over months just get worse and worse and become so painful that one cant even walk or twist? Im super worried and wondering what I can do in the meantime over the next few days to relieve symptoms beyond pain medication. I have a 7 month old to take care of and not much of a support system so Im worried. Advice? Anyone experienced this?
Hi I had a bleed at 8 and 13 weeks but it resolved on its on. When I had the cesarian section I assume they had a pretty good view of my uterus and cleaned me out very well. I had an excellent OBgyn. But I will mention this possibility to my doctor cos we are exploring all avenues, to be safe. Its kinda scary, really…
In December I had a surgery, they “left a bleeder”. I went into hypovolemic shock and had to be taken back to surgery. Between the 2 surgeries I lost over 1400 cc of blood. My hemoglobin went from 13.9 to 6.1 in a just a few hours. Now I have kidney stones. Does anyone know if the low volume could have caused the renal calculi (kidney stones)?
If you have had a kidney stone, or are a doctor or in a medical field, what did you do for the pain and how well did it work? I’m going to my family doctor as soon as I can, what can I expect?

I’ve had a few recurring UTI’s within the last 5 months. (Also…for the past 10 months, I’ve had blood in my urine in almost every lab work prior to some of my UTI’s and the doctor said that it wasn’t an alarming count and to not worry about it) About a week ago, I had symptoms of the beginning of a UTI….urgency, frequency, and flank/back pain (but no burning). My doctor started me on Ciprofloxacin and told me that if things didn’t progress by the end of the week to call back. Things didn’t get better, and he put me on Augmentin. I’m still having the urgency and frequency and flank pain. The flank pain ranges from a dull radiating pain to sharp pains that could send me to the floor. Could this be a UTI and I’m just "immune" to the antibiotics or is there a possibility that I have kidney stones?
I asked this question yesterday, but decided to ask again to get different opinions from different people.
My view on the cereal that it can be somewhat risky to eat if you already have a balanced diet. The cereal provides 100% of different vitamins and minerals in one serving, but what happens when you go over the daily requirements? Excess vitamin C for example can provoke kidney stones, and vitamin A in large amounts can have negative side effects. This is an amateur conclusion, but what do you think about it?
I read online that vitamin C can prevent and dissolve kidney stones. Searching more though some say it causes them
Does Vitamin C help or hinder? Have you tried this remedy your self?

I have a Urinary Tract Infection and i have had them before but never with my lower abdomen hurting. My left lower abdomen has been hurting. It has been hurting for over 3 days. It feels more of a discomfort and latley i have not been able to sleep at night due to the pain. My family believes it might be constipation and i have taken an oral saline laxative. What is going on?? Also i am 20 years old ..
I was diagnosed last Tuesday, 11/24 with kidney stones. Today is Monday, 11/30 and I still feel discomfort. I think I passed it, but am not sure. It’s not the same pain I was in, but I feel a twinge every now and then. How long will I feel like this?
I have had symptoms of a UTI for about 2 and a half weeks now. I was taking antibiotics for it and every time I thought it had cleared up, it would come back. Then Thursday morning I had my third kidney stone attack at 5:30 AM. I ended up passing it that afternoon. Friday I had a terrible headache and a bad pain in my side, sort of. I figured I might be sore from passing the kidney stone. Well it’s Sunday and it’s still there. Friday night I had a fever of 101.4 then Saturday morning I had a fever of 101.5 and my head was KILLING me. I took a prescription strength Ibuprofen and it went away but several hours later it was back. I woke up today and I still have the pain. It’s a sharp pain in my right side, kinda near my rib. I’ve still also been having funny smelling and cloudy urine off and on this past two weeks. What is wrong with me?

My gallstones were removed but the the organ- After the surgery I put the weight back on!
He went to the urinary specialist.And he had a scan .They found two large kidney stones.When he urinates it burns bad.The urine sample was normal.He also had his prostrate checked it was Ok.He has pain in his one testicle..No blood when he urinates.Not cloudy either.Pain in back too.

I went to my Doctor today and I told her about the pain I was experiencing, I’m 6months pregnant and my Doctor said that it might be my ligaments since my body is stretching and said it may also be kidney stones.. So I don’t know what to do.. I need more info.. Can someone help? I need to know what the symptoms are, what I can do, where should I go for help? Basically I need advice.. Cuz I don’t even know what Kidney Stones is or what they do or how serious it is… thanx..

how do you know when its too big and you need it surgically removed?
when you think you have one should you call to inform your doctor or should you wait until you feel its too big?

i found out yesterday(thursday) i have a urinary tract infection and i was schedualed for a rhinoplasty and chin job monday. Will it be cancelled now?
He has sharp pain that starts in his lower back around the kidney area. the pain wraps around his side and shoots down to his bladder and now he said to his testicle. After 5 visits the MD says kidney stone and pain meds. But they don’t see any on the xray or ct scan. Any suggestions???? He’s drunk cranberry juice – no change.
I looked on the back of the ingriedents and on hot tea it didnt have any of the perservaties like calcium citrate that causes oxolate formation, is there a way it can still cause kidney stones?
I’m concerned with a few things. I have had kidney stones, UTI’s, and I currently have a gallstone (too large to pass through the duct). However I am concerned that it is something more complicated. I am not asking fora diagnosis but I was wondering what it could be. I’ve been experiencing localized discomfort in my abdominal region. My symptoms include:
-Side pain both left and right
-Back pain, which i think is because of my gallstone
-my dr also told me my urine had enzymes in it, along with some blood.
-I randomly get UTI’s roughly every 3 months
-Joint pain
-occasional intense short term headaches
- lower Abdominal pain (I believe appendix area), tender to the touch
- Extreme Crampy/stiff sensations on sides and upper front abdominal region.
-extreme fatigue
-frequent fever accompanied by my skin flushed.
-irregular periods
-chronic hand tremors
also- I had a ultrasound (that’s how they found my gallstone), and my dr said my liver looked "okay". I am 21, and have not had a sip of alcohol in months…any help?

im 14 years old and in the middle of being diagnosed with some kind of kidney disease/problem… it is a metabolic disorder and it is a stone forming disease, i also have kidney calcification… i am taking aslot of painkillers, including parecetemol, buscopan and codine. i have heard that diabeties can cause kidney disease and have been having alot of strange symptoms recently.. here they are
