How frequent were your kidney stone pains? I may have a kidney stone. I haven't had pain since the end of January. Now it is the end of March. Could I still have a kidney stone even though I have no pain or symptoms?

Can a urinary tract infection cause someone to lose their ability to speak and use their vocal chords for three days?
Are people put into the ICU for a urinary tract infection and inability to swallow? And if so, would they begin feeding the person that milkshake stuff or just sugar water in the ICU?

My husband had lithotripsy 3 days ago. They ran a stent fro the kidney to the bladder. He is to urinate into a funnel with a sceen to catch any stones which may pass. So far nothing. How long could it take? How long with nothing before we assume it didn't work?

Is there anyone who upholds an anti oxalate kidney stone diet (and who uses NO anti oxalate kidney stone medicine) for some years AND thereof gets significantly or substancialy less stones? (and is convinced about it.)

My husband is doubled-over with the pain from a kidney stone. He refuses to go to the ER but at the same time he needs some relief. He has taken pain meds but thats not working. Does anyone know of any home remedies for relief?

My 11-year-old male cat (neutered and indoor) has kidney stones. For the past couple days he's been having a lot of trouble urinating, and when he does manage to urinate there's been blood in his urine. He's also been vomiting and doesn't have an appetite.

He's had kidney stones a couple times before, and when I took him to the vet, they gave me these pills to give him, but he would just throw them up. I don't remember what was in the pills they gave me, but I know they were an antibiotic.

What can I do to help him until I can get him to the vet? Is there any way I can help him break up the stones, like a special diet I could give him? I know I shouldn't give him dry cat food — are there certain vitamins that could help break up the stones, or ways to encourage him to eat and drink more? Also, what can the vets do to help him, other than surgically removing the stones? Is there something like an antibiotic shot they could give him?

Hi I am Asian male my age 23 (single-virgin ) I fell like uncomfortable this days please help me my friends .
Last Monday I had some symptoms in my urine…I don’t have diabetics I check its normal but im fat .

1st day I feel like to go to restroom every 1hours but no problem in my pee its normal color. And I start to drink water lot ….
2nd day same but I feel like not major pain little dull pain in my front kidney left side same right side of kidney but not like left side pain this pain not longer its 1or 2 minutes every 1 or 2 hours after I fell this pain .
3rd day my privet area is pain normal time but when I go to pee little pain in inside in area burning little not much it’s like something block inside me and little back pain in my back near my back bone disk then I take my urine report and I went to doctor.
My urine report:-
Color – pale yellow / appearance clear /specific gravity 1.012 / pH 6.0 /
Pus cells occasional / epithelial cells occasional / red cells, protein glucose etc all NIL ….

DR (kidney specialist) told me my report is normal no problem in my urine he told me I had kidney stone it small. But he not scan my body he give a medicine to 1 week after it not stop u can take ultra scan. These are the medicine he gave to me
Lasix 40mg / ciprofloxacin hydrochloride 500mg / buscopan .2 times a day

Now I feel like pain near my urethra. (*O*) * This mark is my pain O is my urethra
Last 2days, dull back pain and some pain in kidney area dull side not much but my urine going normal. No burning sensation

This is my question:-
What this disease? It s kidney stone how long it will take to cure?
These symptoms are kidney stone or another disease symptom?
Ultra scan good for this?
Any way to cure this disease?
These symptoms are good or bad my life?

My doctor wants to do a series of CT scans, every few weeks. I don't want to be exposed to so much x-ray radiation. There are sites on the web which claim that MRI is just as good as CT for kidney stones. I tend to believe them, but I can't convince my doctor.

Some sites claim that doctors are asked by hospitals to promote their CT business. (Hospitals rarely own MRI equipment). That's the real reason doctors prefer CT.

Did anyone face this situation? How do I convince my doctor to use MRI?

I would prefer no guesses, *please*. Please only answer if you are in the health profession or have first-hand knowledged! I had a huge kidney stone dissolved by lithotripsy in early April. For a few weeks prior to the horrific, debilitating pain that came to me as though I had been hit by a huge truck with a gnawing maw, I had had menstrual type cramps, but all around my midriff. Lately I've been having some pains in both the left side and right side of my body, about even with my kidneys, but in the side, not back. Here are my questions: 1. Would the CAT scan/X-rays they took 1 1/2 months ago have shown all the stones or just the one that caused the problem and 2) am I having symptoms of kidney stones again? Thanks much.

My husband is in PAIN from a kidney stone. I have read a lot about UriFlow. I ordered it. But is there anything we can do at home? This is his 50th but it's the worst. Prescription Meds are not working. Go to the ER? No they can't do anything. He is scheduled for a procedure next week with his Urologist. I had what I would consider "mild pain" or an "uncomfortable" feeling in my private area until I urinated this morning. I noticed something dark come out, so I fished it out of the toilet (with the brush) and closely examined it. It looks exactly like photos of a kidney stone seen in Yahoo Image Search.

Could it be possible I had a stone and didn't know it?
